International audience; A new tridentate N2O donor Schiff base ligand [(C6H5C(OH)CHC(CH3)NCH2C5H4N)LH] was obtained by 1:1 condensation of benzoylacetone with 2-picolylamine and has been used to synthesise a mononuclear [CuLCl] (1) and an end-to-end dicyanamide bridged polynuclear {[Cu2(μ-L)2(μ2-1,5-(CN)2N)]ClO4}n (2) copper(II) complexes. This paper describes a work aimed at improving the conditions of an extraction method, coupling GC-MS determination, for the analysis without cleanup phase, of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) from sediment samples. The automatic Soxhlet extraction in warm mode (using Extraction System B-811 Standard, Buchi) has demonstrated advantages for automation, reduced extraction time, and lower solvent use than for conventional Soxhlet extraction. Under these conditions, the recoveries are very good as they resulted greater than 85 % and, in most of the cases, near 100 %. The main purpose of this work was to develop a reliable method for the determination of vanadium (V) and molybdenum (Mo) in atmosphere particles or aerosols because they can not be readily measured using conventional techniques. For this research, 30 particulate samples were collected from five different stations located at Palermo, Italy. We used the catalytic adsorptive stripping voltammetry and differential pulsed voltammetry to measure Vand Mo in atmospheric particulate, respectively.
