Background: Spine aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) rarely occur in adults. Primary and secondary lesions may show some differences and require appropriate treatments. Objective: To systematically review the literature on adult spine ABCs. Methods: PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, and Web-of-Science were searched. Clinical-radiological features, treatments, and outcomes were analyzed and compared between primary vs secondary adult spine ABCs. Results: We included 80 studies comprising 220 patients. Primary spine ABCs were more frequent (76.4%). Main symptoms were lower-back-pain (42.8%) and motor deficits (31.2%). Strontium90 (Sr90) is an artificial nuclear fission product of the atmospheric a-bomb testing between 1945 and 1979. It was spread throughout the atmosphere in the following years. Sr90 is an analogue to calcium and therefore enriched in human bones. Several studies especially in the 1960s and 1970s were undertaken to investigate the Sr90 burden and the resulting incorporated radiation in humans, but present studies are missing. The internal calcar septum is a ridge of cortical bone protruding from the inner cortical wall of the proximal femur into the medullary canal. It extends from the lesser trochanter into the femoral neck and narrows the femoral cavity in its dorsal third. This region is essential for THR stability, but the degree of contact between the septum and standard THR implants has never been studied. Abstract Transitory evoked otoacoustic emissions are normal phenomena observed in most persons with hearing levels greater than 35 dB. Further, masking of the contralateral ear produces amplitude reductions in the transitory evoked otoacoustic emissions. We have undertaken a study of transitory evoked otoacoustic emissions in 20 patients with acoustic neuroma. All patients were assessed for transitory evoked otoacoustic emissions bilaterally, with and without contralateral masking with white band noise at 40, 50, and 60 dB. Application of ultrasound in bone surgery: Two case reports

The present study describes some of the applications of ultrasound in bone surgery, based on the presentation of two clinical cases. The Piezosurgery® ultrasound device was used (Tecnología Mectron Medical, Carasco, Italy). In one case the instrument was used to harvest a chin bone graft for placement in a bone defect at level 1.2, while in the other case a bony window osteotomy was made in the external wall of the maxillary sinus, in the context of a sinus membrane lift procedure.
