Abstract Continuous antibiotic prophylaxis represents an initial management strategy for decreasing the risk of urinary tract infections in children with vesicoureteral reflux. Abstract Numerous studies in the last decades report a frequent association of marginal periodontal disease with some systemic metabolic disorders, such as diabetes or obesity. The prevalence of these diseases is growing alarmingly both globally and in our country. Recent data from the literature confirm that advanced forms of periodontal disease can influence the evolution of type 2 diabetes. This may provide a premise for better glycemic control.

Methods The analysis is based on older ACS patients included in the FRASER and LONGEVO SCA studies. The Global Risk of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) risk score was computed in all patients. We read with great interest the article by Spec et al. [1] investigating the immunophenotype of T cells from patients with Candida spp. sepsis. This is the first observational study describing the altered immune response of patients with candidemia.
