As regulation of gene expression accompanies this maturation process, it is likely that differentially expressed genes are involved in the maturation events. Background This study aimed to compare the histological and immunohistochemical characteristics of ameloblastomas (AM) and ameloblastic carcinomas (AC). Material and Methods Fifteen cases of AM and 9 AC were submitted to hematoxilin and eosin (H&E) and immunohistochemical analysis with the following antibodies: cytokeratins 5,7,8,14 and 19, Ki-67, p53, p63 and the cellular adhesion molecules CD138 (Syndecan-1), E-cadherin and β-catenin. Tämä on tapaustutkimus kahden kaksikielisen (suomi ja ruotsi) lapsen varhaisesta kielenkehityksestä. Tutkimusmateriaali koostuu kahdesta 1-3 –vuotiaasta lapsesta (tyttö ja poika), jotka käyvät ruotsinkielistä päiväkotia Keski-Suomessa. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää, kehittyykö suomi ja ruotsi samaa tahtia sekä onko havaittavissa yksilöllisiä eroja kieltenkehityksessä. Näiden lisäksi tutkimuksessa otetaan selville, kumpi kielistä on vahvempi sekä tarkastellaan kuinka paljon lapsi käyttää sekä suomea että ruotsia samassa lauseessa. BACKGROUND: Infectious entry of human papillomaviruses into their host cells is an important step in the viral life cycle. For cell binding these viruses use proteoglycans as initial attachment sites. Subsequent transfer to a secondary receptor molecule seems to be involved in virus uptake. Depending on the papillomavirus subtype, it has been reported that entry occurs by clathrin- or caveolin-mediated mechanisms. Purpose:Direct measurement of mammographic x-ray spectra under clinical conditions is a difficult task due to the high fluence rate of the x-ray beams as well as the limits in the development of high resolution detection systems in a high counting rate environment. In this work we present a detection system, based on a CdTe detector and an innovative digital pulse processing (DPP) system, for high-rate x-ray spectroscopy in mammography.
