A bioenergetics model was constructed for ruffe Gymnocephalus cernuus, and the model was used to estimate the food consumption of a native G. cernuus stock in Pyhajarvi, a large mesotrophic lake in south-west Finland. The parameters for the bioenergetics model were determined through laboratory experiments conducted at several temperatures between 5 and 22° C for different sized G. cernuus (from 6 to 27 g). The model was verified and validated with independent laboratory growth experiments. The objective of the present paper is to review the methods of measuring micronutrient intake adequacy for individuals and for populations in order to ascertain best practice. A systematic review was conducted to locate studies on the methodological aspects of measuring nutrient adequacy. The results showed that for individuals, qualitative methods (to find probability of adequacy) and quantitative methods (to find confidence of adequacy) have been proposed for micronutrients where there is enough data to set an average nutrient requirement (ANR). Design and implementation of a long-range low-power wake-up radio and customized DC-MAC protocol for LoRaWAN

In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a long-rage wake-up radio (WuR) and customized duty cycled (DC) MAC protocol for wireless IoT devices. The WuRx achieves a sensivity of −70 dBm by consuming just 0.032 mA, thereby optimizing the energy consumption of battery powered long-range wireless IoT devices. Reducing the power consumption of these devices minimizes the overall costs when deployed in large scale.
