Ozone therapy in idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome. Biochemical, neurophysiological and clinical aspects

2018

Purpose.
Idiopathic Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment neuropathy; however few and only retrospective studies have been found in search engines about Ozone Therapy.
The aim of this paper was to evaluate clinical and neurophysiological outcome following Ozone Therapy in CTS.
We focused the attention on the evidences concerning the role of Subsynovial Connective Tissue (SSCT) in the pathogenesis of CTS and the ozone pre-conditioning effects linked to pain and inflammatory pathways and to fibrosis induced by Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury.

 Materials and methods.
Thirty-five patients, aged between 21 and 80, were stratified clinically b…

Behaviour and neural responses in crucian carp to skin odours from cross-order species

2012

Many teleost species respond with fright reactions to olfactory cues from injured skin of conspecifics, but they may also display responses to skin extracts of heterospecific fish. In the present study, we exposed crucian carp to skin extracts of conspecifics and three cross-order species of fish (brown trout, pike, and perch). Behavioural experiments showed that conspecific skin extracts induced fright reactions in crucian carp; extracts of brown trout induced such behaviour less frequently, while extracts of perch and pike were poor inducers of fright responses. The olfactory bulb is chemo-topically organized, and different sub-sets of neurons respond to functionally related odorants that…

Early screening of new accumulating versus non-accumulating tree species for the phytomanagement of marginal lands

2019

International audience; The use of fast-growing trees producing a high quantity of biomass can bring significant practical and economic benefits to the reclamation of marginal lands. The present study aims to identify new shrub/tree species to offer a wider range of shrubs/trees useful for phytomanagement practices. We implemented three experimental sites in France of 1 ha each (Thann, Carrières-sous-Poissy and Leforest) contaminated by different potentially toxic elements (PTE) with a total of 38 different tree species. After two years of growth, the element concentrations in stem and leaf biomasses, tree survival rate and growth of plants were assessed. Although the three sites had elevat…

INDAGINI SULLA RISPOSTA IMMUNITARIA DEL PUNTERUOLO ROSSO NEI CONFRONTI DEI NEMATODI ENTOMOPAGENI

2009
