Association between family environment and the bullying phenomenon among school-age children: A systematic review

There is a lack of evidence about the possible role of the family environment in the occurrence of the bullying phenomenon among school-age children. We carried out a systematic review of the literature to investigate the positive and negative family determinants associated with the bullying phenomenon. Potential classes of determinants-e.g. interparental conflict and/or parenting behaviours-were studied by searching peer-reviewed literature published between the January 2008 and December 2018 on PubMed/MEDLINE, SCOPUS and ISI Web of Science. Abstract Background Patterns of weight cycling in adult combat sports have been extensively studied, yet data on this matter in youth combat athletes is rather scarce. Methods PubMed, EBSCOhost and Web of Science were used to retrieve relevant data. Eligible studies had to record the methods used to elicit rapid weight loss (RWL) and/or record the oscillations in bodyweight during the RWL phase. Tāpēc lielāka uzmanība jāpievērš imigrantu bērniem, jo īpaši gados jaunāki cilvēki kļūst par trešās kultūras bērniem. Tā ir kultūra, kas ir atšķirīga no dzimtās zemes un mītnes zemes kultūras. Latvijā un Vācijā ir līdzīga problēma – izglītības sistēma nav pietiekami adaptēta imigrantu bērniem. The impact of maternal weight in pregnancy on glucose metabolism in non-diabetic offspring in late adulthood

Aims: We aimed to examine the association between maternal adiposity and glucose metabolism in adult offspring without diabetes, simultaneous taking offspring own adiposity into account. Methods: This longitudinal birth cohort study (Helsinki Birth Cohort Study) included 1,440 non-diabetic subjects examined at a mean age of 62 years. Subjects were divided into quartiles according to maternal body mass index (BMI). The impact of maternal BMI on offspring body composition was also studied.
