Farm Entrepreneurs’ Intentions to Develop Pluriactive Business Activities in Finland

We contribute to the entrepreneurial intentions literature by applying the theory of planned behaviour and resource-based views to the model of active entrepreneurs’ intention to develop their pluriactive businesses. Using our 2012 survey data from farm firms in Finland, we address the limited focus on active entrepreneurs and their intentions to develop on-going income-generating, off-farm related business activities. We found that attitudinal proxy antecedents such as innovation, cooperation and growth for pluriactivity differ for active and non-active entrepreneurs and with respect to the entrepreneurs’ age and production line and innovation behaviour. Artykuł przedstawia historyczny zarys powstania i obecnego funkcjonowania Biblioteki im. Arcybiskupa Alfonsa Nossola w Kamieniu Śląskim, która stanowi część Centrum Kultury i Nauki Wydziału Teologicznego Uniwersytetu Opolskiego. Przybliżono historię budynku położonego w kompleksie pałacowo-parkowym, a także sylwetkę miłośnika książek i darczyńcy. Następnie opisano organizację zasobów, źródła kolekcji, układ, strukturę oraz szczegółowe cechy kolekcji. Zaprezentowano także system informacyjny, obsługę i użytkowników biblioteki. Friday Black et Intruders : lecture croisée au prisme de l'afrofuturisme

This article contrasts “The Finkelstein 5” and “Zimmer Land”, from Nana Kwame Adjei Brenyah’s short story collection Friday Black (2018) with the “Untitled” series from Mohale Mashigo’s Intruders (2018), using Mark Dery’s definition of Afrofuturism as a reading grid and a starting point. While both collections draw on the codes of science fiction and dystopia to portray racialized characters in futuristic settings to examine their relation to technology and their place in fictional ‘future’ societies, they take on different approaches. In 2021, the Museum of Zoology “P. Doderlein” of the University of Palermo acquired a new specimen, the complete skeleton of Stenella coeruleoalba, a striped dolphin stranded in 2018 in Marinella di Selinunte, Castelvetrano (Sicily, Southern Italy). The project herein described is the result of a collaboration among the Bio-Reconstruction Laboratory of the IAS-CNR of Capo Granitola, the IZS of Palermo, the company Naturaliter and the Museum of Zoology “P. Leadership and spirituality in business and public administration: a cross-cultural empirical study comparing the USA and France

National audience; In this discussion we build on previous work on the role of ethics in shaping the behaviour of leaders in business and public administration to investigate the relationship between leadership spirituality, the environment springing from such leadership, and the resulting followers’ attributions of leader effectiveness in the USA and France. Survey data collected from the USA and France were used to test a composite construct of spiritual leadership including (a) accountability, (b) rationality, and (c) honesty. The relationship between Internet use, online and printed newspaper reading in Finland: investigating the direct and moderating effects of gender

This article explores how the time spent on the Internet is associated with printed and online newspaper reading. The direct and moderating effects of gender are especially investigated. The survey data ( N = 612) collected from Finland in 2011 are analysed by using hierarchical regression modelling. The results of the study show that Internet use has a displacement effect on printed newspaper reading but only among male respondents. In contrast, results show that more women spend time on the Internet the more frequently they also read printed newspapers. This finding is in line with the so-called efficacy hypothesis.
