Gregoire's last will and testament called for the organization of six awards to be granted on the basis of written competitions on subjects that included reflections upon despotism, slavery, liberties, and equality, the themes of the struggles that had engaged Gregoire. Although the quality of the essays that resulted were not up to the level that the abbot had no doubt hoped for, the competition relative to the means of fighting the prejudice of color was the occasion to open a large debate and to launch the French abolitionist movement.

This data was collected during an short-term incubation experiment in March 2017 that investigated the response of a surface plankton community to upwelling. This experiment was carried in the framework of the SFB754-funded KOSMOS mesocosm study that took place in La Punta, Callao, Peru between February-April 2017. A total of six different treatments were used to disentangle chemical and biological characteristics of deep water that influence surface plankton blooms: 2 different deep water sources with different nutrient concentrations; 3 treatments to distinguish the effects of inorganic nutrients, organic nutrients and deep water microbial populations. Di recente è stato realizzato un’intervento di restauro; qui per brevità, si descrivono soltanto alcune questioni legate al tema del colore nel Liberty che in questa Villa sono stati riproposti con principio filologico a partire dalle preesistenze presenti a Mondello dove la Villa ha sede.

Thanks to some technical progress in interferencefilter design based on different technologies, we can finally successfully implement the concept of multispectral filter array-based sensors. This article provides the relevant state-of-the-art for multispectral imaging systems and presents the characteristics of the elements of our multispectral sensor as a case study. The spectral characteristics are based on two different spatial arrangements that distribute eight different bandpass filters in the visible and near-infrared area of the spectrum. Abstract Background matching, a common form of camouflage, is a widespread anti-predator adaptation that hinders detection or recognition by increasing the resemblance of prey to its environment. However, the natural environment is complex and both spatially and temporally variable, which constrains effective background matching as an anti-predator strategy. Here, using remote sensing data (publicly available satellite imagery), we investigated how variation of habitat parameters predicts background matching in 16 Sahara–Sahel rodent species across spatial and temporal scales. From a theoretical point of view, a tensorial formalism adapted to the study of molecules or octahedral ions with a half-integer angular momentum has been developed for the first time. We have used here the method of projective representations, more consistent than that of double groups.
