Power line communication (PLC) is one of the most today used technologies for both automatic meter reading and many other smart grid applications. In this framework, a characterization of the electrical network in the PLC frequency range is needed in terms of impedance measurement and received signal level. The objective of this study was to find out if national culture impacts the phenomenon of power as it is found in teacher-student communication at the University of Jyväskylä. The study is pertinent and relevant because of the increasingly rapid internationalization that is happening in the Finnish higher education system. Video games as a consumer product have changed significantly with the advent of in-game purchasing systems (e.g., microtransactions, ‘loot boxes’). This review examines consumer protections related to in-game purchasing by anticipating some of the potential design strategies that might contribute to higher risk consumer behavior. Attention was directed towards the analysis of patents for potential in-game purchasing systems, with 13 identified on Google Patents. The design features were analysed in relation to the consumer rights and guarantees described in the terms of use agreements of the patent assignees. Este artículo analiza la influencia que ejercen diversas instancias de prescripción en los hábitos de asistencia al teatro. El estudio se basa en una encuesta realizada específicamente para esta investigación en la que fueron entrevistadas 210 personas que asistían a una representación teatral en tres salas distintas de la ciudad de Valencia. El estudio ha revelado la importancia del boca a boca en la decisión de asistir al teatro y su mayor influencia entre el público menos asiduo a las representaciones teatrales. Bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts neverbālo komunikācijas līdzekļu lietojums britu un amerikāņu lietišķajās prezentācijās. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt un salīdzināt neverbālo līdzekļu lietojumu apkopotajās prezentācijās. Pētījuma metodes, kuras pielietotas pētījuma izstrādē, ietver ar pētījuma tematu saistītu teorētisko materiālu analīzi un gadījuma izpēti. Šajā darbā teorija tiek piemērota praksē, pētot neverbālās komunikācijas līdzekļus divās lietišķajās prezentācijās. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj esošās līdzības un atšķirības, kuras pastāv starp britu un amerikāņu oratoriem, ņemot vērā kineksiku, okuleksiku, paralingvistiku un proksēmiku.

This study aims to provide some empirical explanations for the gaps in ICT diffusion between industrialized countries, especially European countries vis-à-vis the United States. The panel data cover eleven OECD countries: Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. These annual macroeconomic data span the 1981-2005 period.The analysis provides some original results: (i) the impact on ICT diffusion of the level of education and market rigidities has changed over time.
