Gas-liquid chromatography and lipophilicity of esters of benzoic acids

Abstract The use of gas-liquid chromatographic (GLC) retention indices for the determination of lipophilicity was studied for a series of alkyl and arylalkyl esters of substituted benzoic acids. The regression relationships between the logarithms of the partition coefficients and the retention characteristics measured on two cpillary columns, SE-30 and OV-351, were evaluated. The behaviour of arylalkyl esters and of alkyl esters cannot be expressed in terms of a single regression equation. This is probably a consequence of the effect of the intramolecular hydrophobic interaction upon the retention of arylalkyl esters under GLC conditions. Purpose: To analyze the optical quality of intraocular lenses (IOL) with an orange (PC440Y) and a yellow (SN60AT) filter, and correlate these results with the visual quality of patients with these implants. Setting: Fisabio Oftalmología Médica, Valencia, Spain. Design: Randomized prospective study. Materials and Methods: The IOL optical quality was determined using the modulation transfer function (MTF) and the spectral transmission. Mūsdienās aizvien ir aktuāla morālā kaitējuma kompensācijas noteikšana kriminālprocesā, it sevišķi tāpēc, ka morālam kaitējumam nepastāv precīzi nosakāms naudas ekvivalents. Darba mērķis ir izveidot universālu, ilgspējīgu morālā kaitējuma noteikšanas koncepciju, skaidri noteikt kritērijus, kuri tiesnešiem jāņem vērā, lemjot par kaitējuma kompensācijas apmēru, turklāt izpētīt arī praktiskos jautājumus, kas saistās ar kompensācijas pieteikšanu. Pētījuma rezultātā izstrādāta ilgspējīga morālā kaitējuma koncepcija, kurā noteikti rekomendējoši, taču aptuveni kompensācijas piešķiršanas apmēri, kā arī piedāvāti vairāki Kriminālprocesa likuma grozījumi.
Integration of CSR into CEOs’ compensation: effects on social and financial performance of French listed firms

Based on the stakeholder model of corporate governance, this research analyzes the relationship between the integration of corporate social responsibility (CSR) into CEO compensation and corporate social and financial performance, in firms listed on France’s SBF 120 stock market between 2015 and 2019. The results of panel data regressions show that indexing CEO compensation on CSR criteria only influence corporate social performance Moreover, social performance has a positive impact on financial performance and a mediating effect between the integration of CSR criteria into CEO compensation and financial performance.

In this paper we describe the first full implementation of a content-based indexing and retrieval system for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 videos. We consider a video as a collection of spatiotemporal segments called video objects; each video object is a sequence of video object planes. A set of representative video object planes is used to index each video object. During the database population, the operator, using a semi-automatic outlining tool we developed, manually selects video objects and insert some semantical information. Currently, no clinically available FUS treatment system features automated respiratory motion compensation. The required quality standards make developing such a system challenging.
