Motzkin subposets and Motzkin geodesics in Tamari lattices

The Tamari lattice of order n can be defined by the set D n of Dyck words endowed with the partial order relation induced by the well-known rotation transformation. In this paper, we study this rotation on the restricted set of Motzkin words. An upper semimodular join semilattice is obtained and a shortest path metric can be defined. We compute the corresponding distance between two Motzkin words in this structure. This distance can also be interpreted as the length of a geodesic between these Motzkin words in a Tamari lattice. Use of Geospatial Analyses for Semantic Reasoning

International audience; This work focuses on the integration of the spatial analyses for semantic reasoning in order to compute new axioms of an existing OWL ontology. To make it concrete, we have defined Spatial Built-ins, an extension of existing Built-ins of the SWRL rule language. It permits to run deductive rules with the help of a translation rule engine. Thus, the Spatial SWRL rules are translated to standard SWRL rules. Once the spatial functions of the Spatial SWRL rules are computed with the help of a spatial database system, the resulting translated rules are computed with a reasoning engine such as Racer, Jess or Pellet.

Benefits of a dance group intervention on institutionalized elder people: A Bayesian network approach

[EN] The present study aims to explore the effects of an adapted classical dance intervention on the psychological and functional status of institutionalized elder people using a Bayesian network. All participants were assessed at baseline and after the 9 weeks period of the intervention. Measures included balance and gait, psychological well-being, depression, and emotional distress. According to the Bayesian network obtained, the dance intervention increased the likelihood of presenting better psychological well-being, balance, and gait. Besides, it also decreased the probabilities of presenting emotional distress and depression. These findings demonstrate that dancing has functional and …

Space and Light, Towards an Interactive Simulation of Lighting

International audience; Une image est une vue, à un instant donné, de l'équilibre lumineux présent dans une scène. Cet équilibre résulte d'un système complexe où l'énergie provenant des sources est re-distribuée dans l'espace par les matériaux appliqués aux formes. Si cet équilibre est perturbé par une modification des conditions lumineuses, l'image précédente n'est plus valide. En cela elle ne représente qu'un instant d'un lieu et non le lieu lui même. Nous proposons ici une approche pour la simulation interactive de l'éclairage dans une scène complexe. Une application à cette étude étant la production d'images vivantes et confondantes dans le cadre de la réalité augmentée.
