Monomer Sequence Distribution Monitoring in Living Carbanionic Copolymerization by Real-Time 1H NMR Spectroscopy

Detailed understanding of the monomer sequence distribution in carbanionic copolymerization was achieved by direct online monitoring of copolymerizations in an NMR tube. Obtaining detailed knowledge of the changing monomer concentration in stock during the reaction, this technique permits to determine the incorporation probability for each monomer at every position of the polymer chain. An in situ kinetic study of two different carbanionic copolymerizations has been carried out. Sacrificial Synthesis of Hydroxy-Telechelic Metathesis Polymers via Multiblock-Copolymers

The synthesis of well-defined telechelic ring-opening metathesis polymers has been achieved by Sacrificial Synthesis. With the formation of cleavable triblock-copolymers, precise control over the molecular weight and the degree of functionalization was achieved. Introducing cleavable monomers that can be addressed separately, sequential deprotection was accomplished which opened the path to more sophisticated polymeric materials bearing different substituents at their respective chain ends. Sacrificial penta- and heptablock-copolymers are also presented which allow the synthesis of well-defined telechelic polymers in good yields and significantly improved initiator efficiency.

BACKGROUND: The design of polymeric vectors for gene delivery provided with specific properties is one of the most critical aspects for a successful gene therapy. Bulk morphologies of polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-poly(tert-butyl methacrylate) triblock terpolymers

Abstract The self-assembly of block copolymers in the bulk phase enables the formation of complex nanostructures with sub 100 nm periodicities and long-range order, both relevant for nanotechnology applications. Here, we map the bulk phase behavior of polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-poly(tert-butyl methacrylate) (SBT) triblock terpolymers on a series of narrowly distributed polymers with widely different block volume fractions, ϕS, ϕB and ϕT. Wpływ wybranych parametrów na efektywność katalizowanej wanadocenem kopolimeryzacji etylenu z norbornenem i właściwości otrzymanych produktów

W pracy zbadano wpływ parametrów reakcji na kopolimeryzację etylenu z norbornenem wobec katalizatora wanadocenowego (Cp2VCl2) w obecności trichloroctanu etylu (ETA). Przeprowadzono serię reakcji kopolimeryzacji, zmieniając w każdej z nich jeden z parametrów reakcji: temperaturę lub ciśnienie etylenu. Następnie zbadano temperaturę zeszklenia, stopień wbudowania norbornenu i mikrostrukturę otrzymanych kopolimerów, poddając je analizie DSC oraz spektroskopii 13C NMR. Copolymerization of Vinylidene Fluoride and Acrylic Acid in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

The free-radical copolymerization of vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and acrylic acid (AA) was carried out in supercritical carbon dioxide using both precipitation and dispersion techniques in the presence of an ammonium carboxylate perfluoropolyether compound. Formation of a copolymer was confirmed by variable contact time CP MAS NMR spectroscopy. Macromolecular matrices were significantly enriched in AA with respect to the initial feed composition and we found that the nonfluorinated monomer has a much higher reactivity ratio with respect to VDF.
