The diets and the trophic niche overlap between seven flatfish species were studied in a coastal nursery adjoining to the Tagus estuary (Portugal). Fish were sampled monthly, from March to November 1999, using a beach seine. Arnoglossus imperialis (Rafinesque, 1810), Arnoglossus laterna (Walbaum, 1792) and Arnoglossus thori Kyle, 1913, fed mainly on crustaceans. The diets of Buglossidium luteum (Risso, 1810) and Dicologoglossa cuneata (Moreau, 1881) were mainly composed of Bivalvia and Polychaeta, while for Scophthalmus rhombus (Linnaeus, 1758) the main food items were Mysidacea and Teleostei. Hierarchical-ACA DBEM for Anisotropic Three-Dimensional Time-Harmonic Fracture Mechanics

A hierarchical BEM solver for the analysis of three-dimensional anisotropic time-harmonic fracture mechanics problems is presented. A thorough investigation on the relations and interactions between the numerically computed anisotropic fundamental solutions and the algorithm used to approximate the blocks of the hierarchical matrix, namely Adaptive Cross Approximation, is carried out leading to the employed computational strategy. The use of the hierarchical matrices and iterative solvers is proved as an effective technique for speeding up the solution procedure and reducing the required memory storage in time-harmonic three-dimensional anisotropic fracture mechanics problems.

Exploiting historical rainfall and landslide data in a spatial database for the derivation of critical rainfall thresholds

Critical rainfall thresholds for landslides are powerful tools for preventing landslide hazard. The thresholds are commonly estimated empirically starting from rainfall events that triggered landslides in the past. The creation of the appropriate rainfall–landslide database is one of the main efforts in this approach. In fact, an accurate agreement between the landslide and rainfall information, in terms of location and timing, is essential in order to correctly estimate the rainfall–landslide relationships. The Italian Constitutional Court has been asked to decide on a constitutional incidental question referred to it by the Antitrust Authority. Rejecting the thesis of a quasi-judicial nature of the functions exercised by the Agcm and denying the existence of "gray areas" of constitutional justice, the the judgment no.13/2019 takes a position on the institutional placement of the Authorities within the administration. This, in addition to offering elements for reflections on the constitutional model of reference, requires important legal repercussions in terms of the effectiveness of the constitutional protection of connsidered interests.
