The aim of my master's thesis research is to understand student counselling phenomenon and its role in Russian and Finnish school leadership. This research study shows differences of organising student counselling in schools itself and its role in a school leadership. Patient education and counselling are essential constituents of interaction between a patient and a healthcare organisation. This study explores patient education and counselling practices, focusing on the opportunities of modern technology in the development of interaction with patients. With the help of a qualitative study we illustrate nurses' conceptions about the topic and discuss future opportunities. Our approach is distinctively patient centred; all discussion about the use of technology is from the point-of-view of patient's well-being and empowerment.
Training Career Practitioners for the Current Context

Training programs for career practitioners continue to increase in both quantity and quality. For example, international opportunities for those interested in career development facilitator training have increased substantially during the past decade. In this chapter we provide highlights of these developments as they have occurred throughout the world. The chapter details the substantial variability that exists regarding the training career practitioners receive. Finally, we make recommendations regarding minimal training standards and the need for more uniform language within our profession. peerReviewed

Piia Silvennoinen tutki väitöskirjassaan, millainen merkitys työvoimapoliittisella koulutuksella on ikääntyvien pitkäaikaistyöttömien elämässä. Koulutusten oletetaan parantavan ikääntyvien pitkäaikaistyöttömien työmarkkinakelpoisuutta ja elämänhallintaa. Silvennoinen haki vastausta siihen, miten ikääntyvät pitkäaikaistyöttömät itse suhtautuvat työvoimapoliittisiin koulutuksiin; onko niistä heille haittaa vai hyötyä.
