Stability and nature of the volume collapse of ε-FeO under extreme conditions

Iron oxides are among the major constituents of the deep Earth's interior. Among them, the epsilon phase of FeO is one of the less studied polymorphs and there is a lack of information about its structural, electronic and magnetic transformations at extreme conditions. Here we report the precise determination of its equation of state and a deep analysis of the evolution of the polyhedral units under compression, thanks to the agreement between our experiments and ab-initio simulations. Our results indicate that this material, with remarkable magnetic properties, is stable at pressures up to 27 GPa. Geocriticism: for an interpretation of the Romanian novel about the Revolution of 1989

Abstract The main aim of this paper is to present a recent approach to literary text- the geocritical method- both from a descriptive and a polemic point of view, and, at the same time, to determine the applicability of this method and the concepts issued by Betrand Westphal on the Romanian novel describing Bucharest during the Revolution of 1989. Following the routes presented in the novels of two contemporary authors, Mircea Cărtărescu and Bogdan Suceava, I will try to propose a new method of topos analysis in the novel, which could re-evaluate the representation of the spaces caught at the boundary between reality and fiction (in the future).

But above all one image is significant not only to his poetics but to himself: that of Le Condottière, translated in english as Portrait of a Man. On 2012, thirty years after Perec’s death, the last piece of his literary image was discovered. La monografia affronta in maniera interdisciplinare un'opera meno nota di Giacomo Serpotta, realizzata tra il 1695 e il 1696, all'interno della chiesa palermitana di Sant'Orsola. A dispetto dell'apparente consistenza come apparato minore, lo studio e il restauro, intersecando le conoscenze acquisite durante il cantiere, hanno posto in evidenza aspetti meno divulgati sia relativi alla tecnica, che all'iconografia (anche relativamente ad inediti modelli di riferimento), che all'interpretazione delle immagini simboliche.
