Integrated production of biopolymers with industrial wastewater treatment: Effects of OLR on process yields, biopolymers characteristics and mixed mi…
2022
The production of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) using industrial wastewaters as feedstocks is a current and challenging topic. This study investigated the production of biopolymers by a mixed microbial culture under different OLRs equal to 1 kgCOD m-3d-1 (Period 1), 2 kgCOD m-3d-1 (Period 2) and 3 kgCOD m-3d-1 (Period 3). The maximum PHA content was achieved in Period 2 (0.38 gPHA gTSS-1), whereas lower values were obtained in Period 1 (0.13 gPHA gTSS-1) and Period 3 (0.26 gPHA gTSS-1). Overall, the maximum PHA productivity resulted equal to 0.08 gPHA L-1h-1 (P2), 0.05 gPHA L-1h-1 (P1) and 0.04 gPHA L-1h-1 (P3), respectively. The molecular weight of the PHA increased from Period 1 (250 kDa) t…
AIAP DESIGN PER, INTERNATIONAL GRAPHIC DESIGN WEEK 2017, CULTURE VISIBILI
2017
Microscopic evidence of the primary astrocytes' morphological differentiation and migration inside porous Poly-L-lactic acid 3D‑scaffolds
2019
Tissue engineering is an emerging multidisciplinary field that aims at reproducing in vitro and/or in vivo tissues with morphological and functional features similar to the biological tissue of the human body [1]. In the attempt to construct suitable tissue models, a critical step is the setting of 3D scaffolds that mimic the supportive structures of a natural extracellular matrix microenvironment into which cells are normally embedded. In this context, the generation of 3D cultures of brain cells is of particular interest. For instance, the poly L‐lactic acid (PLLA) polymer is wildly used because of its biocompatible and biodegradable potential; the PLLA scaffold topography simulates the n…
Nation and/or Homeland: Identity in 19th-Century Music and Literature between Central and Mediterranean Europe
2012
The aim of this book is to focus on the development of national awareness elaborated around a series of different case studies, in which the terms nation, homeland and people have been applied. This Romantic lexicon identifies similar but various conceptions of the national idea in some countries dominated by Italian, German and Slavic cultures, and in some groups or minorities such as the Jews and the Vlachs in Central and Mediterranean Europe. In order to clarify the cultural framework, the authors explore the construction of identity through folk tunes, poetry inspired by popular culture, and opera in which the national myths or heroes appear. In the self-making tradition, the national t…

Sudabeh Mohafez e Yoko Tawada: due differenti processi di (ri)costruzione identitaria
2019
Yoko Tawada is a famous German-Japanese author she lives since 1982 in Germany, where she writes in Japanese and German. Sudabeh Mohafez is a German-Iranian author that she lives since 1979 in Germany and she writes only in German. This essay examines how Tawada and Mohafez approach the native country in their works. The focus of this study intends to show what different identity processes have each writers and how they are described in Akzentfrei, 2016 of Tawada and Wüstenhimmel Sternenland, 2004 of Mohafez.
