Herbert Doms belongs to the circle of German theologians that in the first half of the twentieth Century contributed to the discussions on the teaching of the purpose of marriage. His book About the meaning and the purpose of marriage published 1935 in Breslau became an important work that proposed the distinction between the meaning and purpose of marriage and on this way opened new ways in Catholic theology towards an understanding of marriage. Konceptuālās metaforas lietojums rakstos par akciju biržas tirgu

Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt konceptuālo metaforu lietošanu finanšu diskursā, un tieši rakstos par akciju biržas tirgu. Raksti tika izvēlēti no diviem interneta avotiem: The Economist un NewYork Times. Darba teorētiskajā daļā sniegts literatūras pārskats par tēlainu valodu, metaforu un žurnālistikas stilu. Empīriskā daļa ir balstīta uz kvalitatīvu un kvantitatīvu konceptuālo metaforu analīzi, izmantojot Lakofa (Lakoff) un Džonsona (Johnson) teoriju un Pragglejaz Group modeli. In concrete box girders, the amount and distribution of reinforcements in the webs have to be estimated considering the local effects due to eccentric external loads and cross-sectional distortion and not only the global effect due to the resultant forces of a longitudinal analysis: shear, torsion and bending. This work presents an analytical model that allows designers to take into account the interaction of all these effects, global and local, for the determination of the reinforcements. Coherent conditional probabilities and proper scoring rules

In this paper we study the relationship between the notion of coherence for conditional probability assessments on a family of conditional events and the notion of admissibility with respect to scoring rules. By extending a recent result given in literature for unconditional events, we prove, for any given strictly proper scoring rule s, the equivalence between the coherence of a conditional probability assessment and its admissibility with respect to s.
