La presente monografia si propone di indagare il concetto di metamorfosi fra Estetica e Morfologia, facendo riferimento alle opere di alcuni autori fondamentali del pensiero morfologico tedesco quali J.W. Goethe ed E. Haeckel. Particolare attenzione viene posta sulla distinzione fra metamorfosi illimitata, metamorfosi vincolata e metamorfosi plastica, in un dialogo costante fra teorizzazioni filosofiche, suggestioni letterarie e gli esiti più recenti della ricerca ricerca scientifica.
