In geometry, shape is the object of theorems associated to a class of transformations. It corresponds to the invariant properties of regions, figures, solids, which are not altered by transformations. The concept of shape implies the concepts of space, upon which transformations are acted, and metric, if distance is preserved, or a measurement function. L’intenzione alla base della mia proposta teorica, che ho definito appunto “il medium come habitat”, è quella di riattualizzare la questione della medialità in relazione ad un habitat che non deve essere esclusivamente inteso come ambiente naturale (quello dell’ecologia) o come ambiente sociale (dell’antropologia o della sociologia). A partire dal concetto di “eterotopia”, elaborato da Michel Foucauld, il testo indaga la dimensione immaginativa ed emotiva dello spazio, legata al modo in cui l’individuo, nel suo comportamento sociale, rappresenta e organizza la realtà in cui vive. Lo spazio emozionale si configura così come “soglia”, luogo di transizione tra reale e irreale, aprendo inusitati intrecci tra arte del discorso e del costruire, tra retorica e architettura.

This contribution is dedicated to the figure of Kurt Huber, one of the protagonists of the anti-Nazi resistance group of the White Rose, and to the studies he dedicated to the thought of Leibniz. The great German philosopher, investigated in the link that binds monadology to the thought of individuality, appears as a source for rethinking the relationship between Germany and Europe and for overcoming Nazi barbarism.
