Abstract Electromagnetic radiation (ER) emitted by mobile phones and other modern devices has potentially harmful effects on ocular tissue. Their effects on the eye surface and tear film are little known so far. The aim of this paper was to investigate the effects of ER emitted by the phone mobile on the tear film. For this study, we selected a total of 50 subjects, young, healthy, without chronic treatment, who are not contact lens wearers and who have no history of ophthalmic surgery. Mērķis: izpētīt Latvijā lietojamo pretnoguruma lēcu efektivitāti acu noguruma mazināšanai. Metodes: izmantota anketēšana, lai pētītu redzes noguruma pakāpi un simptomus digitālo ierīču lietotājiem. Praktiskajā daļā pētīta Essilor Eyezen 0,6 lēcu efektivitāte darbam ar digitālām ierīcēm, kā arī veikta Essilor Eyezen 0,4, 0,6 un LTL Holiday 0,75 lēcu salīdzināšana un analīze. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt acs priekšējā kameras kakta struktūras atvērta un slēgta kakta glaukomas gadījumos, un sakarību starp acs priekšējā kameras kakta leņķi un varavīksnenes saknes formu. Attēla kvalitātes ietekme uz acs struktūru izvērtēšanu foto-diagnostikā

Darba mērķis bija izpētīt 18 samazinātas kvalitātes spraugas lampas attēlu, kuros attēloti acu priekšējo daļu struktūras, ietekmi uz 5 profesionāļu atzinumiem. Attēli, kas sadalīti 3 6 attēlu komplektos trim samazināšanas filtriem, izplūdums (1-6), troksnis (7-12) un kontrasts (13-18), tika parādīti datora ekrānā un salīdzināti ar oriģinālajiem attēliem. Rezultāti tika saskaņoti ar īsto attēla diagnozi un novērtēti 3 punktu sistēmā, pareizs atradums: 1 un 0,5 (daļēji) punkti, nepareizs vai nav atrasts: 0 punkti. Purpose To report the prevalence of dry eye in a large population-based sample of French individuals older than 75 years. Methods About 9000 individuals 65 years and older were included in the 3C cohort study since 1999 in 3 French cities (Bordeaux, Dijon and Montpellier). In Dijon, an additional ophthalmic examination was performed 10 years after the initial inclusions to assess the relation between systemic age-related diseases and eye diseases in the MONTRACHET Study (Maculopathy Optic Nerve nuTRition neurovAsCular and HEarT diseases). Mtlinteracts with members of Egfr signaling and cell adhesion genes in the Drosophila eye

Mtl is a member of the Rho family of small GTPases in Drosophila. It was shown that Mtl is involved in planar cell polarity (PCP) establishment, together with other members of the same family like Cdc42, Rac1, Rac2 and RhoA. However, while Rac1, Rac2 and RhoA function downstream of Dsh in Fz/PCP signaling and upstream of a JNK cassette, Mtl and Cdc42 do not. To determine the functional context of Mtl during PCP establishment in the Drosophila eye, we performed a loss-of-function screen to search for dominant modifiers of a sev>Mtl rough eye phenotype.
