The publication presented in the review is an interesting and much-needed research proposal, which combines the discourse of a philologist, an ethnographer, and a cultural anthropologist. This approach is innovative in the literary studies research on this Polish master dramatist; it constitutes a valuable source not only for literary commentators of Mickiewicz’s series but also for Belorussian folklore scholars, or for those investigating the merging of Polish and Belorussian culture. Music festivals as mediators and their influence on consumer awareness

Abstract Cultural products compete for public awareness in markets with high uncertainty, oversupply and a short product life cycle. Altogether, this means that only a small fraction of all releases generate the necessary consumer awareness to achieve a significant commercial success. This paper aims at identifying the informational function music festivals serve in cultural markets and how it translates into consumer discovery of cultural supply. To do so, we empirically measure informational spillover effects to performers at an established music festival. A survey of the choreutic-dramatic actions with statues and / or puppets present in the Sicilian festivals. These are puppets representing "giants" (saints or founding heroes), "animals" (camel, snake, horse) and "wild men" or statues of the Crucifix and the Madonna with the articulated arms that are used during the festive rituals in Sicilia. These animated figures represent a unique cultural model that combines play, theater, parties and religion.
