RESUMEN Objetivo: Determinar qué número de medicamentos consumidos diariamente es influyente en el riesgo de caídas en ancianos no institucionalizados y con historial de caídas en el último año. Método: Estudio descriptivo mediante muestreo aleatorio con la utilización de los siguientes instrumentos de medida: cuestionario de la OMS para el estudio de caídas en el anciano, escala de marcha y escala depresión geriátrica y escala de marcha y equilibrio. AbstractThis is a critical comment on Adamson and Benevich (2018), published in issue 4/2 of the Journal of the American Philosophical Association. I raise two closely related objections. The first concerns the objective of the flying man: instead of the question of what the soul is, I argue that the argument is designed to answer the question of whether the soul exists independently of the body. The second objection concerns the expected result of the argument: instead of knowledge about the quiddity of soul, I claim the argument yields knowledge about the soul's existence independently of the body. A partire da una recente pronuncia della Suprema Corte, il presente contributo si propone di offrire alcune osservazioni sul tema della revocatoria delle rimesse su conto corrente bancario, con specifico riguardo alla ripartizione degli oneri probatori. Il tema è affrontato alla luce delle peculiarità delle rimesse come atti di“pagamento”e dello status di creditore qualificato della banca, al fine di comprendere su chi gravi l’onere di provare la natura della rimessa e se, per il fatto stesso che il soggetto convenuto in revocatoria è una banca, l’onere di allegazione gravante sulla curatela debba intendersi alleggerito.

International audience; The aim of the GBAR (Gravitational Behavior of Antimatter at Rest) experiment is to measure the free fall acceleration of an antihydrogen atom, in the terrestrial gravitational field at CERN and therefore test the Weak Equivalence Principle with antimatter. The uncertainty of medicine: Galen on the notion of techne stochastike

In this article we try to show the Galen’s perspective on the epistemological status of medicine, in particular starting from the conceptual category of τέχνη στοχαστική. Even though the qualification of τέχνη στοχαστική attributed to medicine does not have an explicitly negative connotation in Galen’s Corpus, it does occupy a subordinate position compared with the solidity furnished by the more geometrico method, and is almost a necessary evil that Galen introduces to justify that fallibility of medicine, which at the same time he himself tries in every way to minimize.

Violation of the equivalence principle from light scalar dark matter

In this paper, we study the local observational consequences of a violation of the Einstein Equivalence Principle induced by models of light scalar Dark Matter (DM). We focus on two different models where the scalar field couples linearly or quadratically to the standard model of matter fields. For both these cases, we derive the solutions of the scalar field. We also derive from first principles the expressions for two types of observables: (i) the local comparison of two atomic sensors that are differently sensitive to the constants of Nature and (ii) the local differential acceleration between two test-masses with different compositions.
