Bimodal Approach for Noise Figures of Merit Evaluation in Quantum-Limited Josephson Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifiers

The advent of ultra-low noise microwave amplifiers revolutionized several research fields demanding quantum-limited technologies. Exploiting a theoretical bimodal description of a linear phase-preserving amplifier, in this contribution we analyze some of the intrinsic properties of a model architecture (i.e., an rf-SQUID based Josephson Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier) in terms of amplification and noise generation for key case study input states (Fock and coherents). Furthermore, we present an analysis of the output signals generated by the parametric amplification mechanism when thermal noise fluctuations feed the device.

Preparation and x-ray pole-figure characterization of DC-sputtered Bi-2201, Bi-2212 and Bi-2223 thin films

Thin films of the three members of the superconducting series , n = 1,2,3, were prepared by diode sputtering. X-ray characterization shows that all the films are single phase and c-axis oriented and in addition they are epitaxially grown. The latter is found by x-ray pole-figure measurements taken with a four-circle diffractometer. These are emphasized in this work. AC susceptibility measurements show that, while the 2201 films are not superconducting until 4 K, the transition temperatures of the 2212 films are 82 K - 90 K and of the 2223 films 84 K - 89 K.

En el presente trabajo se examinan las terracotas figuradas de producción o de influencia griega documentadas en los yacimientos fenicio-púnicos del Mediterráneo centro-occidental en el periodo que comprende desde el s.VI hasta los inicios del s.IV a.C. Se trata de importaciones del mundo griego, de sus reproducciones mecánicas –aunque personalizadas con el añadido o la modificación de algunos detalles significativos- o bien de reelaboraciones originales que imitan iconografías griegas adaptándolas al gusto propio o que modifican iconografías del Cercano Oriente y egiptizantes mediante el uso de motivos extraídos del repertorio griego. The paper analyses the relationship between the criminal treatment of 'soft' drugs and the fight against organised crime related to drug trafficking with regard to European law international law and national criminal law of some EU countries (Spain Portugal Greece Germany and Italy). Following an integrated approach the analysis is carried on taking into consideration the phenomenology of trafficking and an assessment of the initial effects that the anti-prohibitionist reforms of some North and South American jurisdictions have produced on the illicit market. l fenomeno dei cosiddetti “foreign fighters” e il verificarsi di attacchi terroristici in alcuni paesi dell’Unione europea hanno sollevato la questione relativa alla privazione della cittadinanza come misura di contrasto e tutela della sicurezza pubblica. Questo articolo intende contribuire al dibattito sulla legittimità giuridica di tale misura, esaminando i recenti sviluppi della legislazione in materia e le sue applicazioni in Belgio, Francia, Regno Unito e Italia.

The so-called "foreign fighters" phenomenon and the occurrence of terrorist attacks in some EU countries have raised the question of the deprivation of citizenship as a measure of contrast and protection of public security. This article aims to contribute to the debate on the legal legitimacy of that measure by examining recent developments of the legislation on the subject and its applications in Belgium France Uk and Italy.
