Mathematicians love to tell stories about people they once knew or perhaps only heard about. If the story happens to sound believable, others are apt to repeat it, possibly embellishing on the original tale. Such mathematical folklore occasionally finds its way into print, and once it does, readers are apt to take such stories at face value, lending them additional credibility. Occasionally, though, alleged facts come under scrutiny, and established stories are exposed as fiction. Yet even when someone comes along with decisive evidence refuting an earlier account it can easily happen that the original story just refuses to die.

El presente trabajo pretende analizar la opinión que los estudiantes universitarios de Turismo tienen respecto a desarrollar su futuro laboral en el área comercial de empresas turísticas, la que más oferta de puestos de trabajo genera en España. En concreto, se pretende conocer cuál es su percepción sobre este tipo de trabajo, tanto desde un punto de vista personal como profesional. Para alcanzar estos objetivos, se ha encuestado a 348 estudiantes de diferentes cursos, de grado y posgrado, que han sido clasificados en función de su interés por trabajar como vendedores en el sector turístico. Mythological Themes in Artworks of Ernests Brastins and Arvids Brastins

The aim of the study is to analyse artwork of Ernests Brastins (1892-1942) and Arvids Brastins (1893-1984) from the point of view of content and iconology, and the formal structure of work, which helps to reveal the author’s ideological direction. Using the comparative method, the visual text (artwork) is compared to the verbal (folklore) text, in an attempt to find parallels to the way they reflect Latvian mythological conceptions. An appropriate folksongs and beliefs are chosen for the artwork selected for the analysis, which serve as an explanatory material for the subject.
