Diagnosis and follow-up of complex congenital malformations/mental retardation (MRA/MR)

2013

Complex congenital malformations, associated in 30% of cases with mental retardation, recognize different etiologies: environmental causes, mendelian disease, chromosomal abnormalities, imprinted anomalies. Frequently complex congenital disorders are rare diseases. Rare diseases are infrequent pathological conditions (prevalence in the general population of less than 1/2.000 live births1), and often poorly understood. Because of their rarity these morbid conditions often either go undiagnosed or are diagnosed late with a negative impact for both the affected person and the family. The birth prevalence is high (2-4% of all births). The diagnosis is essential to program complex and integrated…

Modulo sperimentale di registrazione delle procedure diagnostiche e terapeutiche in ambito odontostomatologico

2016

Ten-year follow-up on efficacy, immunogenicity and safety of two doses of a combined measles-mumps-rubella-varicella vaccine or one dose of monovalen…

2020

Abstract Background We assessed the 10-year efficacy, immunogenicity and safety of two doses of a combined measles-mumps-rubella-varicella vaccine (MMRV) or one dose of a monovalent varicella vaccine (V) in children from Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. Methods This was a phase IIIB follow-up of an observer-blind, randomized, controlled trial (NCT00226499). In phase A, healthy children aged 12–22 months from 10 European countries were randomized in a 3:3:1 ratio to receive two doses of MMRV (MMRV group), one dose of MMR followed by one dose of V (MMR + V group), or two doses of MMR (MMR; control group), 42 days apart. Vaccine efficacy (VE) against varicella (confirme…

Obinutuzumab (GA101) in Combination with Pixantrone for the Treatment of Patients with Relapsed Aggressive B-Cell Lymphoma:Â a Phase II Trial (GOAL)

2018

Abstract Background: A substantial proportion of patients fail first line treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Currently available salvage therapies are often ineffective and cannot be tolerated, especially for elderly patients. Thus, probably less than 25% of patients achieve a long lasting remission. Regimens like gemcitabine/oxaliplatin, or bendamustin, both in combination with rituximab are available for elderly or after failure of HDT, however induce only short lived responses. Obinutuzumab (GA101) is a type II anti-CD20 antibody, with preclinical evidence of superiority over rituximab in xenograft models of MCL and DLBCL. Recently a large phase III trial failed to show a benefi…

Electroretinographic oscillatory potentials in insulin-dependent diabetes patients: A long-term follow-up.

2002

Purpose: The aim of this research was to study the relevance of long-term follow-up of electroretinographic oscillatory potentials (OPs) in predicting the onset of minimal non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy in insulin-dependent diabetes patients. Methods: A total of 80 insulin-dependent diabetics, with normal fundi and normal OPs at first examination, were followed prospectively for 10 years. Oscillatory potentials were measured and fundus examinations performed once or twice per year. Results: During follow-up, 35% of patients developed diabetic retinopathy after a mean disease duration of 12 ± 2 years. A decrease in OP amplitudes was seen in 46% of this group, but reductions were also…

[Choosing a quality-of-life questionnaire].

2006

International audience; Define the objective of the questionnaire: Discrimination: do you want a questionnaire to enable you to describe the quality of life of patients or to compare the quality of life between groups of patients, for example, to determine who has improved and who has gotten worse? Assessment: do you want a questionnaire to help you measure changes over time (improvement or aggravation) in your patients? Determine the properties of instruments necessary for this objective: If the objective is discrimination, analyze: construct validity, reliability. If the objective is assessment, analyze construct validity, sensitivity to changes. Choose the general category of questionnai…
