'It's like a Sentence before the Sentence' - Exploring the Pains and Possibilities of Waiting for Imprisonment

This article explores the implications of the ‘imprisonment queue’ in Norway. Based on interview data (N = 200), we show that while interviewees waiting to serve their sentences enjoy certain benefits such as being able to prepare for or negotiate the terms of their imprisonment, they also suffer from uncertainty and powerlessness. The suspension of their lives while they wait hinders them in pursuing their ground projects, things that really matter to them. This peculiar phenomenon has not received attention from prison scholars generally, as well as scholars writing on Nordic Exceptionalism specifically. Background Copper(II) is a heavy metal whose levels have increased in some marine ecosystems to polluting levels. Dinoflagellates, an important phytoplankton group, are at the base of aquatic food chains and bioaccumulation of copper by these microorganisms can result in complex ecosystem alterations, so we investigated how copper disturbs those cells. Digitaalisten valokuvien muokkaamisesta on tullut hyvin helppoa ja yleistä, mikä on nostanut esille huolen valokuvien uskottavuudesta. Ongelman ratkaisuksi on esitetty erilaisia tekniikoita, joilla valokuvien aitoutta voidaan arvioida. Tarkastelen tässä tutkielmassa niin sanottuja passiivisia tekniikoita, jotka eivät edellytä kuvasta minkäänlaista ennakkotietoa, kuten vesileimaa. Vertailen viittä tällaista tekniikkaa laatimani neljä kohtaa käsittävän kriteeristön pohjalta. Physical activity from adolescence to young adulthood: patterns of change, and their associations with activity domains and sedentary time

Background Longitudinal studies demonstrate an average decline in physical activity (PA) from adolescence to young adulthood. However, while some subgroups of adolescents decrease activity, others increase or maintain high or low activity. Activity domains may differ between subgroups (exhibiting different PA patterns), and they offer valuable information for targeted health promotion.
