Ghost stochastic resonance in FitzHugh–Nagumo circuit

International audience; The response of a neural circuit submitted to a bi-chromatic stimulus and corrupted by noise is investigated. In the presence of noise, when the spike firing of the circuit is analysed, a frequency not present at the circuit input appears. For a given range of noise intensities, it is shown that this ghost frequency is almost exclusively present in the interspike interval distribution. This phenomenon is for the first time shown experimentally in a FitzHugh-Nagumo circuit.

Theoretical and experimental study of two discrete coupled Nagumo chains

We analyze front wave (kink and antikink) propagation and pattern formation in a system composed of two coupled discrete Nagumo chains using analytical and numerical methods. In the case of homogeneous interaction among the chains, we show the possibility of the effective control on wave propagation. In addition, physical experiments on electrical chains confirm all theoretical behaviors.

The Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for bilinear forms and polynomials

For a $\sigma$-finite measure $\mu$ and a Banach space $Y$ we study the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property (BPBP) for bilinear forms on $L_1(\mu)\times Y$, that is, a (continuous) bilinear form on $L_1(\mu)\times Y$ almost attaining its norm at $(f_0,y_0)$ can be approximated by bilinear forms attaining their norms at unit vectors close to $(f_0,y_0)$. In case that $Y$ is an Asplund space we characterize the Banach spaces $Y$ satisfying this property. We also exhibit some class of bilinear forms for which the BPBP does not hold, though the set of norm attaining bilinear forms in that class is dense.

Ēšanas traucējumu saistība ar starppersonu uzvedības efektivitāti

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot pastāvošās sakarības starp ēšanas traucējumu simptomu izteiktību un personas funkcionēšanu starppersonu attiecībās, tādējādi papildinot Latvijā veikto ēšanas traucējumu jomas izpēti ar iepriekš neskartu tēmu. Tika aptaujātas 72 sievietes vecumā no 18 gadiem, bet 2 vecāko dalībnieču rezultāti izslēgti no pētījuma, jo tās katra bija vienīgā pārstāve savā vecuma grupā, 50-54 un 55-60 gadi; tādējādi dati apkopoti par 70 dalībniecēm vecumā no 18 līdz 50 gadiem. Darbā tika apskatīts un izanalizēts vainas jēdziens, vainas būtība un nozīme personas saukšanā pie kriminālatbildības, kā arī vainas formas noteikšanas problēma salikta sastāva noziedzīgos nodarījumos. Darbā tika izanalizēta neuzmanības būtība un katra neuzmanības veida, kas ir noziedzīgā pašpaļāvība un noziedzīgā nevērība saturs un pazīmes. Formation constants for complex species of mono-, di- and tri-alkyltin(IV) cations with somenucleotide 5-monophosphates (AMP, UMP, IMP and GMP) are reported, atT=25◦CandatI=0.16 mol l−1(NaCl).
