ČUKSTOŠĀS GALERIJAS MODU MIKROREZONATORU DISPERSIJAS OPTIMIZĒŠANA KERRA FREKVENČU ĶEMMES ĢENERĒŠANAI VIENA SOLITONA REŽĪMĀ

Viens no galvenajiem čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru pielietojumiem ir frekvenču ķemmes ģenerēšana, kur monohromatiska lāzera signāls tiek pārkonvertēts vairākās frekvencēs ar regulāru intervālu starp tām. Priekš pielietojuma telekomunikācijās pie ierosinošā lāzera viļņa garuma 1550 nm frekvenču intervālam starp modām vajag būt ap 100 GHz. Lai panāktu frekvenču ķemmes ģenerāciju pie šādiem nosacījumiem, ir nepieciešams optimizēt rezonatora ģeometriju, lai tā raksturīgā dispersija ir līdzsvarā ar Kerra nelinearitāti. Uz čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru bāzes veidotu sensoru modelēšana

Darbā tiek pētīti uz čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru bāzes veidoti sensori. Tiek veiktas datorsimulācijas ar programmu COMSOL Multiphysics. Datorsimulācijās tiek modelēti dažāda izmēra temperatūras sensori, kas atsevišķos gadījumos tiek salīdzināts ar eksperimentu. Vēl tiek modelēts sensors bio-slāņa biezuma noteikšanai, kas aplīp ap mikrorezonatoru. Kā arī sensors vienas molekulas noteikšanai.
Čukstošās galerijas modu mikrorezonatoru modelēšana

Dotajā darbā tiek aprakstīta teorija un modelēšanas rezultāti par gaismas izplatīšanos sfēriskos Čukstošās galerijas modu optiskajos mikrorezonatoros ar diametru 1 - 5 um. Modelēšanai tiek izmantota COMSOL Multiphysics datorprogramma ar viļņu optikas moduli (Wave Optics Module). Tiek apskatītas sistēmas prizma-rezonators un optiskā šķiedra-rezonators. CODEX Weak Lensing Mass Catalogue and implications on the mass-richness relation

The COnstrain Dark Energy with X-ray clusters (CODEX) sample contains the largest flux limited sample of X-ray clusters at $0.35 = \alpha \mu + \beta$, with $\mu = \ln (M_{200c}/M_{\mathrm{piv}})$, and $M_{\mathrm{piv}} = 10^{14.81} M_{\odot}$. We find a slope $\alpha = 0.49^{+0.20}_{-0.15}$, normalization $ \exp(\beta) = 84.0^{+9.2}_{-14.8}$ and $\sigma_{\ln \lambda | \mu} = 0.17^{+0.13}_{-0.09}$ using CFHT richness estimates. In comparison to other weak lensing richness-mass relations, we find the normalization of the richness statistically agreeing with the normalization of other scaling relations from a broad redshift range ($0.0<z<0.65$) and with different cluster selection (X-ray, Sun…

The linear polarization of non-thermal emission encodes information about the structure of the magnetic fields, either from the region where the emission is produced (i.e., the intrinsic polarization angle) and/or from the screens of magnetized plasma that may be located on its way towards Earth (i.e., the effect of Faraday rotation). In addition, the variability timescale of the polarized emission, or its Faraday rotation, can be used to estimate the size of the region where the emission (or the Faraday rotation) originates. The six librettos included in the third volume of Goldoni’s “Drammi comici per musica” (in the context of the “Edizione nazionale delle opere di Carlo Goldoni”) date to the years 1754-1755, a crucial period in the career of the Venetian author. Ectoparasites, nest site choice and breeding success in the pied flycatcher

It has recently been suggested that nest box studies might bias the measurement of behavioural and life-history traits, because the removal of old nests may reduce the load of ectoparasites. This experimental artefact may have notable effects on nest site choice and breeding success in cavity-breeding birds. We tested (i) if pied flycatchers Ficedula hypoleuca prefer clean nest boxes and (ii) if old nest material affects the number of parasites and the breeding success of pied flycatchers. A vacuum cell for obtaining clean surfaces on liquid low melting point metals

Abstract Clean oxide film-free surface of liquid gallium was obtained in a sealed vacuum cell with a glass lid for observation. The cell was evacuated to high vacuum (10 -4 Pa) before admission of liquid and sealing. The surface contamination was about 2–5% of the free area and did not exhibit noticeable increase during several months of storing and employing the cell. The cell described allows observation of surface flows, capillary phenomena and crystallization processes under different conditions.
