International audience; Social scientists studying the effects of space on human behavior usually consider the time dimension as an external factor. Activities are analyzed in an aggregate sense such that the process of individual decision-making is depicted as the single case of "the average individual." In order to link efficiently space and time dimensions, Torsten Hägerstrand defined in 1970's the concept of Time Geography and thereby founded the school of Swedish geography. Abstract Landslide susceptibility (LS) mapping is an essential tool for landslide risk assessment. This study aimed to provide a new approach with better performance for landslide mapping and adopting readily available variables. In addition, it investigates the capability of a state-of-the-art model developed using the group method of data handling (GMDH) to spatially model LS. Furthermore, hybridized models of GMDH were developed using different metaheuristic algorithms. The most recent forms of e-participation seem to provide new issues that need to be discussed. One such discussion involves the role of GIS. Can an ethically aware GIS be conceived? What does it mean for a GIS to be ethical at all? Throughout this paper, first the authors create a theoretical framework to encompass four key elements that lead us to the definition of ethical digital mapping: GIS ethics, social justice, power, and participation. International audience; The project 'HiGeoMes' seeks to connect knowledge about archaeological sites in the Near East with place names in ancient sources of the 2nd millennium BC. The paper describes the digital approach to integrate textual and geographical information by emphasizing the impact of interfaces linking diverse datasets. Several OGC-based Web services provide reviewed archaeological information in a Web GIS with query capabilities. Place-related philological data are stored in an OWL-store to model the topological relations of unidentified sites. Alternative representations of the city are not only a useful analysis tool, but they also provide elements of a conceived new version of lived space that can contribute to ameliorate the spatial justice of the city. This is even truer for intra-local spaces that are the reference scale for many public participation policies, grass-root projects and activists.
