Pettis integrability of fuzzy mappings with values in arbitrary Banach spaces

2017

Abstract In this paper we study the Pettis integral of fuzzy mappings in arbitrary Banach spaces. We present some properties of the Pettis integral of fuzzy mappings and we give conditions under which a scalarly integrable fuzzy mapping is Pettis integrable.

Fractional-order theory of heat transport in rigid bodies

2014

Abstract The non-local model of heat transfer, used to describe the deviations of the temperature field from the well-known prediction of Fourier/Cattaneo models experienced in complex media, is framed in the context of fractional-order calculus. It has been assumed (Borino et al., 2011 [53] , Mongiovi and Zingales, 2013 [54] ) that thermal energy transport is due to two phenomena: ( i ) A short-range heat flux ruled by a local transport equation; ( ii ) A long-range thermal energy transfer proportional to a distance-decaying function, to the relative temperature and to the product of the interacting masses. The distance-decaying function is assumed in the functional class of the power-law …

Coordinate representation for non Hermitian position and momentum operators

2017

In this paper we undertake an analysis of the eigenstates of two non self-adjoint operators $\hat q$ and $\hat p$ similar, in a suitable sense, to the self-adjoint position and momentum operators $\hat q_0$ and $\hat p_0$ usually adopted in ordinary quantum mechanics. In particular we discuss conditions for these eigenstates to be {\em biorthogonal distributions}, and we discuss few of their properties. We illustrate our results with two examples, one in which the similarity map between the self-adjoint and the non self-adjoint is bounded, with bounded inverse, and the other in which this is not true. We also briefly propose an alternative strategy to deal with $\hat q$ and $\hat p$, based …

VARIANTS OF A SELECTION PRINCIPLE FOR SEQUENCES OF REGULATED AND NON-REGULATED FUNCTIONS

2008

Let $T$ be a nonempty subset of $\RB$, $X$ a metric space with metric $d$ and $X^T$ the set of all functions mapping $T$ into $X$. Given $\vep>0$ and $f\in X^T$, we denote by $N(\vep,f,T)$ the least upper bound of those $n\in\NB$, for which there exist numbers $s_1,\dots,s_n,t_1,\dots,t_n$ from $T$ such that $s_1\vep$ for all $i=1,\dots,n$ ($N(\vep,f,T)=0$ if there are no such $n$'s). The following pointwise selection principle is proved: {\em If a sequence of functions\/ $\{f_j\}_{j=1}^\infty\subset X^T$ is such that the closure in $X$ of the sequence\/ $\{f_j(t)\}_{j=1}^\infty$ is compact for each $t\in T$ and\/ $\limsup_{j\to\infty}N(\vep,f_j,T)0$, then\/ $\{f_j\}_{j=1}^\infty$ contains …

The Two Loop Crossed Ladder Vertex Diagram with Two Massive Exchanges

2008

We compute the (three) master integrals for the crossed ladder diagram with two exchanged quanta of equal mass. The differential equations obeyed by the master integrals are used to generate power series expansions centered around all the singular (plus some regular) points, which are then matched numerically with high accuracy. The expansions allow a fast and precise numerical calculation of the three master integrals (better than 15 digits with less than 30 terms in the whole real axis). A conspicuous relation with the equal-mass sunrise in two dimensions is found. Comparison with a previous large momentum expansion is made finding complete agreement.

A new representation of power spectral density and correlation function by means of fractional spectral moments

2009

In this paper, a new perspective for the representation of both the power spectral density and the correlation function by a unique class of function is introduced. We define the moments of order gamma (gamma being a complex number) of the one sided power spectral density and we call them Fractional Spectral Moments (FSM). These complex quantities remain finite also in the case in which the ordinary spectral moments diverge, and are able to represent the whole Power Spectral Density and the corresponding correlation function.

Systematic review of BRAF/MEK inhibitors‐induced Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (SCARs)

2020

Severe cutaneous adverse reactions (SCARs) [Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic syndrome (DRESS), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), and generalized bullous fixed eruption (GBFE)] are severe drug reactions that often require hospitalization and could be fatal. BRAF and MEK inhibitors (BRAF/MEKi) are a standard of care in patients with BRAF-mutated metastatic melanomas. These agents are administered until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurs. This review has focus on BRAF/MEKi-induced SCARs. A systematic search of the following terms: 'vemurafenib', 'cobimetinib', 'dabrafenib', 'trametinib',…

Set-valued Brownian motion

2015

Brownian motions, martingales, and Wiener processes are introduced and studied for set valued functions taking values in the subfamily of compact convex subsets of arbitrary Banach space $X$. The present paper is an application of one the paper of the second author in which an embedding result is obtained which considers also the ordered structure of $ck(X)$ and f-algebras.

Common fixed point results for three maps in G-metric spaces

2011

In this paper, we use the setting of generalized metric spaces to obtain common fixed point results for three maps. These results generalize several well known comparable results in the literature.
