Gasification of pelletized renewable fuel for clean energy production

Abstract The main aim of the study was to develop and investigate a small-scale experimental gasification technique for the effective thermal decomposition of pelletized renewable fuels (wood sawdust, wheat straw). The technical solution of the biomass gasifier for gasification of renewable fuels presents a downdraft gasifier with controllable additional heat energy supply to the biomass using the radial propane flame injection into the bottom part of the biomass layer. Experimental evidence for fractional time evolution in glass forming materials

The infinitesimal generator of time evolution in the standard equation for exponential (Debye) relaxation is replaced with the infinitesimal generator of composite fractional translations. Composite fractional translations are defined as a combination of translation and the fractional time evolution introduced in [Physica A, 221 (1995) 89]. The fractional differential equation for composite fractional relaxation is solved. The resulting dynamical susceptibility is used to fit broad band dielectric spectroscopy data of glycerol. Abstract The recently presented drop-on-demand (DOD) aerosol generator overcomes some of the drawbacks of pneumatic nebulization, as its aerosol is no longer generated by gas–liquid interaction. In the current study, an advanced imaging technique is presented, based on a CCD camera equipped with magnifying telecentric optics to allow for fast, automated and precise aerosol characterization as well as fundamental studies on the droplet generation processes by means of pseudo-cinematography. However, newly available "ionic" (68)Ge/(68)Ga radionuclide generators are not necessarily optimized for the synthesis of (68)Ga-labeled radiopharmaceuticals. A nonlinear electronic circuit mimicking the neuronal activity in presence of noise

We propose a nonlinear electronic circuit simulating the neuronal activity in a noisy environment. This electronic circuit is ruled by the set of Bonhaeffer-Van der Pol equations and is excited with a white gaussian noise, that is without external deterministic stimuli. Under these conditions, our circuits reveals the Coherence Resonance signature, that is an optimum of regularity in the system response for a given noise intensity.

Feedback linearization control of wind turbine equipped with doubly fed induction generator

This paper focuses on several control techniques of a wind turbine of rated power of about 1 MW. In particular, a wind generator equipped with an asynchronous doubly-fed induction machine has been considered and its dynamic model in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment has been implemented. Starting from this model the feedback linearization control has been derived, and several simulations have been carried out, with the aim of compare its dynamic performances with the classical field oriented control, and with the V/f control. The results allow us to conclude that a DFIG controlled by a feedback linearization technique ensures better dynamic performance.

Abstract Organic materials are becoming a realistic roadway to fabricate efficient thermoelectric devices using environmental friendly materials. Such requirements are actually fulfilled by thermoelectric generators operating by conducting polymers, but also by hybrid materials.
