The chapter, from a cultural geographical perspective, offers a reflection on the research methodology used to study some social media. More particularly, starting from the case of the Facebook group “Palermo di una volta” (“Palermo of the past”), subject of a previous study, the results achieved through the analysis of the research process are retraced. Palermo suburbs have grown and developed at the expense of becoming isolated from other parts of the city. Ancient boroughs have been eradicated, alongside their urban identities. The challenges of a cosmopolitan and global world are felt even in middle-sized, fringe cities like Palermo, as its suburbs are forced to become tiles of an urban mosaic that is created by urban development. Argomento della presente relazione è la forma del ri-lievo terrestre. Il rilievo terrestre può essere raffigurato come un grande mosaico le cui tessere sono i versanti. Un versante può es-sere: o una superficie piana caratterizzata da una determinata espo-sizione e da una specifica inclinazione; oppure una superficie curva di tipo concavo o convesso. Coastal dynamics are the result of several processes controlling the balance between sediment input and output over time. The beach system is not always able to maintain a neutral coastal balance due to natural and anthropogenic causes. We present an integrated marine geology, geomorphological and sea-level rise analysis in the coastal sector between Torre delle Ciavole and Capo Calavà (North-Eastern Sicily, Italy).This sector is characterized by high uplift rates and frequent seismicity (mainly generated by the very active Vulcano-Tindari Fault System), promoting the development of mass-wasting processes in the coastal and offshore sectors. La serie TV Game of Thrones (GoT) ha ottenuto grande successo di pubblico e di recensioni. Le ragioni sono varie: il budget speso da HBO, la qualità degli attori e delle ambientazioni, la trama cruda e “forte”, in linea con gli standard più recenti, ma sicuramente anche il fascino dell’estremizzazione. GoT ha provocato (anche con l’originale serie di libri di George Martin, ma più ancora con la serie TV) dibattiti filosofici.
