Small bowel gastrointestinal stromal tumor presenting with gastrointestinal bleeding in patient with type 1 Neurofibromatosis: Management and laparos…

2021

Highlights • A multidisciplinary team is mandatory for the correct management of hemorrhagic GIST and its complications. • There is a well-known association between type 1 Neurofibromatosis and GIST. • Type 1 Neurofibromatosis-GIST and sporadic GIST have different behaviour. • In case of localised and resectable GIST surgical treatment is the mainstay. • Laparoscopic approach, if performed correctly, is safe and effective with better short-term outcomes then open surgery.

Generazione di modelli 3d e ricostruzione semantica su piattaforma GIS Tecniche e Metodologie

2009

Physical Limitations, Walkability, Perceived Environmental Facilitators and Physical Activity of Older Adults in Finland

2017

The aim was to study objectively assessed walkability of the environment and participant perceived environmental facilitators for outdoor mobility as predictors of physical activity in older adults with and without physical limitations. 75–90-year-old adults living independently in Central Finland were interviewed (n = 839) and reassessed for self-reported physical activity one or two years later (n = 787). Lower-extremity physical limitations were defined as Short Physical Performance Battery score ≤9. Number of perceived environmental facilitators was calculated from a 16-item checklist. Walkability index (land use mix, street connectivity, population density) of the home environment was …

Safety of etanercept and methotrexate in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and hepatitis C virus infection: a multicenter randomized clinical trial.

2014

Objective. To evaluate the safety and efficacy of therapy with etanercept and methotrexate (MTX) in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and mild hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.Methods.In this prospective open study, 29 patients with active RA were randomly assigned to receive therapy with MTX alone, etanercept alone, or a combination of MTX and etanercept, and monitored up to 54 weeks. The primary endpoint was safety; secondary aims were efficacy as defined by the 44-joint Disease Activity Score (DAS44) and health assessment questionnaire (HAQ). Serum liver enzymes and HCV viral load were serially measured.Results.In the whole cohort, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) serum leve…

Long-term anti-TNF therapy and the risk of serious infections in a cohort of patients with rheumatoid arthritis: Comparison of adalimumab, etanercept…

2012

Objective: To evaluate the risk of serious infections (SIs) in RA patients receiving anti-TNF therapy on the basis of the data included in the GISEA register. METHODS: The study involved 2769 adult patients with long-standing RA (mean age 53.2±13.4years; mean disease duration 9.0±8.3years) enrolled in the GISEA register, who had been treated for at least 6months with TNF inhibitors or had discontinued therapy due to SI: 837 (30%) treated with infliximab (IFN), 802 (29%) with adalimumab (ADA), and 1130 (41%) with etanercept (ETN). RESULTS: 176 patients had experienced at least one of the 226 Sis during the 9years of treatment with an anti-TNF agent, an overall incidence of 31.8/1000 patient-…

2010

Daily rainfall and air temperature data were collected by IGEBU. For a given station, the number of missing daily rainfall data, MRDm (days), was determined for each month of the recording period. The monthly rainfall depth, Pm (mm), and the monthly number of rainy days, NRDm (days),were determined for each month with a complete record of daily rainfall data. For a given month, Pm was obtained by summing the daily rainfall depth values and NRDm was obtained by counting the number of days of the month characterized by a daily rainfall depth greater than zero. The number of missing daily temperature data, MTDm (days), was also determined for each month of the recording period. The mean of the…

OPEN GEONET: WebGIS Open Source of a GNSS Permanent Network

2010

In Sicily, from 2005 to 2007, a research group at Dipartimento di Rappresentazione (DIRAP), University of Palermo, Italy, has realized a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Network Real Time Kinematic (NRTK), project inside the “National Interest Research Program” PRIN2005 entitled ”Reti di stazioni permanenti per impieghi di controllo ed emergenza” founded by Minister of Instruction, University and Scientific Research (MIUR). With the rapid development of Internet and Web, Web Geographical Information System became an important aspect of GIS study. WebGIS software allow the most efficient and low-cost way in dissemination and sharing of geographic information for public and specific …

Numerical, dimensional or mixed progression disease to imatinib as prognostic factor in patients with metastatic GIST.

2017

11040 Background: The majority of GIST patients with advanced disease initially achieves disease control from imatinib treatment. Approximately 10% of patients progresses within 6 months of starting therapy (primary resistance) and also 50-60% of the responding patients develops progression disease within two years (secondary resistance). Progression disease (PD) can be numerical, dimensional or mixed. The known prognostic factors of risk stratification in local disease are tumor size, mitotic activity and anatomic site. In this retrospective analysis we explore several clinical factors affecting survival in metastatic setting. Methods: The population included in this large database of 128…

Second-line treatment in exon 11-mutated GIST patients: Imatinib dose escalation or sunitinib? Retrospective analysis of a multi-institutional experi…

2014

10515 Background: Data from metastatic GIST patients harbouring exon 11 mutation who received a second line treatment with sunitinib or imatinib dose escalation were retrospectively analysed to compare survival. Methods: 123 exon 11 mutated advanced GIST patients were included. All patients progressed on imatinib 400 mg/die and received, on discretion of physician, a second line treatment with either imatinib (800 mg/die) or sunitinib (50 mg/die 4 weeks on/2 weeks of or 37.5 mg/day continuous daily dose). The type of exon 11 mutation was recorded (deletion versus others) and correlated with survival and response according to RECIST or CHOI criteria Results: 79 patients (64%) received a seco…
