Autorka artykułu prezentuje zjawisko terroryzmu na Bałkanach na przestrzeni wieków XIX i XXI, zwracając uwagę, że ekspansja terroryzmu w tym regionie wymaga podjęcia odrębnych badań, przede wszystkim o charakterze heurystycznym. Wśród nurtów terroryzmu bałkańskiego został wymieniony terroryzm związany z ruchami narodowowyzwoleńczymi i terroryzm polityczny. Ponadto autorka wskazała na akcje terrorystyczne prowadzone w Rumunii i Bułgarii, terroryzm ustaszy i emigracji antyjugosłowiańskiej oraz inne jego formy. Thermoluminescence response of sodalime glass irradiated with photon and electron beams in the 1-20 Gy range

Abstract The thermoluminescence response of a watch commercial glass was studied after irradiation with photons and electrons, in the range 1–20 Gy, of interest in accidental dosimetry; a linear response was obtained with both beams. This result, together with the satisfactory time stability of the thermoluminescence signal, indicates this glass as a potential material for retrospective dosimetry applications.

Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is a widely used biocompatible polymer. We describe a novel epoxide monomer with methyl-thioether moiety, 2-(methylthio)ethyl glycidyl ether (MTEGE), which enables the synthesis of well-defined thioether-functional poly(ethylene glycol). Random and block mPEG-b-PMTEGE copolymers (Mw/Mn = 1.05-1.17) were obtained via anionic ring opening polymerization (AROP) with molecular weights ranging from 5 600 to 12 000 g·mol-1. The statistical copolymerization of MTEGE with ethylene oxide results in a random microstructure (rEO = 0.92 ± 0.02 and rMTEG E = 1.06 ± 0.02), which was confirmed by in situ 1H NMR kinetic studies. The modified Glasgow Prognostic Score (mGPS), a systemic inflammation marker, is a prognostic marker in various types of cancers.
