Resilience represents a new important feature that the anthropic systems, and cities among them, are called to cope with. In fact, the increasing negative stresses to which urban contexts are exposed, and mainly the climatic pressures, call for the capability of adapting to these modifications and, possibly, to restore the ex-ante situations. First-principles nonequilibrium Green's-function approach to transient photoabsorption: Application to atoms

We put forward a first-principle NonEquilibrium Green's Function (NEGF) approach to calculate the transient photoabsorption spectrum of optically thin samples. The method can deal with pump fields of arbitrary strength, frequency and duration as well as for overlapping and nonoverlapping pump and probe pulses. The electron-electron repulsion is accounted for by the correlation self-energy, and the resulting numerical scheme deals with matrices that scale quadratically with the system size. Two recent experiments, the first on helium and the second on krypton, are addressed. Efficient Capture of Organic Dyes and Crystallographic Snapshots by a Highly Crystalline Amino-Acid-Derived Metal-Organic Framework

The presence of residual organic dyes in water resources or wastewater treatment systems, derived mainly from effluents of different industries, is a major environmental problem with no easy solution. Herein, an ecofriendly, water-stable metal-organic framework was prepared from a derivative of the natural amino acid l-serine. Its functional channels are densely decorated with highly flexible l-serine residues bearing hydroxyl groups. A bending theory of thermoelastic diffusion plates based on Green-Naghdi theory

Abstract This article is concerned with bending plate theory for thermoelastic diffusion materials under Green-Naghdi theory. First, we present the basic equations which characterize the bending of thin thermoelastic diffusion plates for type II and III models. The theory allows for the effect of transverse shear deformation without any shear correction factor, and permits the propagation of waves at a finite speed without energy dissipation for type II model and with energy dissipation for type III model. Es wird uber einige Umsetzungen mit Carbonylverbindungen berichtet. Die Reaktion mit Benzaldehyd und einigen p-substituierten Benzaldehyden fuhrt mit hohen Umsetzungsgraden zu Polyvinyldiphenylmethylcarbinolen. Die Reaktion mit Benzophenon liefert Polyvinyltriphenylmethylcarbinol. Diese Verbindung ist in konz. Correlation Dynamics During a Slow Interaction Quench in a One-Dimensional Bose Gas

We investigate the response of a one-dimensional Bose gas to a slow increase of its interaction strength. We focus on the rich dynamics of equal-time single-particle correlations treating the Lieb-Liniger model within a bosonization approach and the Bose-Hubbard model using the time-dependent density-matrix renormalization group method. For short distances, correlations follow a power-law with distance with an exponent given by the adiabatic approximation. In contrast, for long distances, correlations decay algebraically with an exponent understood within the sudden quench approximation.
