This is an introduction to a compilation of six articles on language ideologies in the Romanian Banat. My dissertation was initiated by fieldwork in the area, resulting to a database of interviews among the Hungarian and German inhabitants. This data is compared to intellectual writings. With regards to researcher position, I identify myself as a traveler in the area and as a foreign scholar. In this study the task is to point out the key features in the making of a Swedish nation from the perspective of a minority language, i.e. the Finnish speaking minority in the region of Norrbotten, Sweden. Swedish historians usually list the fear of Russia (Russia, the arch-enemy -topos) and the Laestadian movement as main reasons for the policy of cultural assimilation of the Finnish-speaking minority. In this study the main task is to use the post modern discourse analysis (especially Michael Shapiro) in reading texts between the years 1888 and 1921. Experiencing ethical retail ideology in the servicescape

Studies of the ideological underpinnings of retail stores have improved our understanding of consumers’ retail experiences in brand and national ideology contexts. In retailing, ideology is manifested in retail spatial settings through tangible and intangible cues in servicescapes. This study expands our knowledge on ethical retail ideology by exploring how servicescapes convey cues that shape consumption experiences and foster ethical consumption. Data from an ethnographic study highlight how consumption experiences in physical retail spaces embedding a particular ethical ideology can be thematised as aesthetics, nostalgia and care. Maģīstra darbs „Rūdolfs Šteiners: interpretācijas „trešais ceļš” pievēršas Latvijas akadēmiskajā vidē mazāk pētīta austriešu izcelsmes filozofa un mistiķa Rūdolfa Šteinera (1861-1925) personībai un idejām. Darba mērķis ir iezīmēt to intelektuālo un kultūrvēsturisko kontekstu, kurā vislabāk ir iespējams uztvert un saprast viņa atstāto mantojumu. Darbs sastāv no trīs daļām: biogrāfiska ieskata Šteinera ideju ģenoloģijas procesā, ieskata viņa ideju recepcijas mūsdienu pētniecībā aspektos, un atsevišķu viņa tekstu, kas veltīti viņa radītās antropozofijas identitātes jautājumiem, analīzes. Alternative analysis of transient infiltration experiment to estimate soil water repellency

The repellency index (RI) defined as the adjusted ratio between soil‐ethanol, Se, and soil‐water, Sw, sorptivities estimated from minidisk infiltrometer experiments has been used instead of the widely used water drop penetration time and molarity of ethanol drop tests to assess soil water repellency. However, sorptivity calculated by the usual early‐time infiltration equation may be overestimated as the effects of gravity and lateral capillary are neglected.
