La fase del Ibérico final en el asentamiento del Torrelló del Boverot (Almazora, Castellón): dos piezas cerámicas singulares

Since the end of 1988, when excavation was resumed at the Torrelló del Boverot site in Almazora (Castellón), large amounts of material —mostly ceramics— have been recovered, dating from the end of the Iberian period, which, chronologically, marked the end of the village's life. This paper discusses two unusual ceramic pieces from this late period, documented during the excavations that took place in 1995, undertaken in the central area of the site. The records obtained in this work matches that of a batch of materials donated to the Museum of Almazora by the amateurs who excavated this village in the mid-1970s.
Strength of pre-Roman amphorae: Comparison of the different types

Abstract Given that amphorae were used for storage or for long and/or short distance transport, they must have been able to retain their content and, at the same time, be able to resist important load during transport. This paper concerns aspects of the techno-functionality of pre-Roman Iberian amphorae. The basic performance requirement concerned here is the mechanical strength (transverse rupture strength: TRS). Analysis of Sagunto Ibero-Roman votive bronze statuettes by portable X-ray fluorescence

Abstract The main objective of this work was the study of chemical composition of an important collection of Ibero-Roman votive bronze statuettes exposed in the Archaeological Museum of Sagunto (Spain). Precision and accuracy of the measurements were obtained developing a proper analytical method, also avoiding any possible damage to the studied objects using a portable energy dispersive X- ray fluorescence system. Principal Components Analysis (PCA) to discriminate between groups based on ratios Fe/Cu, Pb/Cu, Sn/Cu, Ag/Cu, Ni/Cu and Impurities/Cu were employed to observe differences between the used smelting, manufacturing processes and raw materials. Izaak Komnen (1007–1060) był pierwszym przedstawicielem swojej rodziny, który zasiadł na tronie cesarskim w Konstantynopolu. Ten wychowany przez cesarza Bazylego II (976–1025) człowiek podczas niezwykle krótkiego panowania próbował naprawić błędy swoich poprzedników, którzy pod koniec dynastii macedońskiej osłabili kraj Rzymian pod względem militarnym. The volatile components of the flowerheads of Centaurea eryngioides Lam. and Centaurea iberica Trev. var. hermonis Boiss. Lam. were obtained by hydrodistillation and identified by GC and GC–MS. Altogether 91 components, mostly fatty acids and hydrocarbons, were identified.
