Progressive Web Apps for the Unified Development of Mobile Applications

Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) allow for web applications to be developed in an offline-first approach. While Web apps traditionally did not properly function without an Internet connection, PWAs enable them to be downloaded, installed and used offline on various systems, including mobile devices and personal computers. We present an introduction to the state-of-art in research and practice. Based on this, we discuss various underlying concepts and technologies. Then, we scrutinize and compare PWAs against cross-platform app development approaches on both technical and overarching aspects. A list of suggestions for future research is also presented. International audience; In this paper we presents a platform based design approach for fast HW/SW embedded smart Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) design and prototyping. Then, we share our experience in designing and prototyping a HW/SW vision based smart embedded system as an ADAS that helps to increase the safety of car's drivers. We present a physical prototype of the vision ADAS based on a Zynq FPGA. The system detects the fatigue state of the driver by monitoring the eyes closure and generates a real-time alert. Consumer Information Services in Intercultural Tourism : An Ethnographic Study of Chinese Outbound Backpackers

This paper reports the findings of an ethnographic study of Chinese outbound backpackers’ use and adoption of consumer information services (CIS) in an intercultural tourism setting. We apply McKenna et al.’s research model of consumers’ adoption of information services as the analytical lens for the interpretive qualitative study. The data gathering was conducted in four different countries. The findings of the study confirm linkages between four information service types and the use and adoption of CIS. Finland has set numeric goals for the development of open access. However, at the moment, no system is available by which this development could be monitored. Poor quality in the metadata records in universities’ research information databases prevents metadata-based analysis of open access publishing progress. We address the feature extraction problem for document ranking in information retrieval. We then propose LifeRank, a Linear feature extraction algorithm for Ranking. In LifeRank, we regard each document collection for ranking as a matrix, referred to as the original matrix. We try to optimize a transformation matrix, so that a new matrix (dataset) can be generated as the product of the original matrix and a transformation matrix. The transformation matrix projects high-dimensional document vectors into lower dimensions. Theoretically, there could be very large transformation matrices, each leading to a new generated matrix.
