Abstract Background Postoperative venous congestion can lead to graft and remnant liver failure in living donor liver transplantation. This study was designed to delineate ‘territorial belonging’ of the middle hepatic vein (MHV) and to identify hepatic venous anatomy at high risk of outflow congestion. Methods MHV belonging patterns for right (RHL) and left (LHL) hemilivers were evaluated by three-dimensional computed tomographic reconstruction and virtual hepatectomy in 138 consecutive living liver donor candidates. Abstract Background Dialysis and kidney transplantation represent two effective strategies in treating chronic uremia, albeit with different results. Our study compared the psychological aspects of two categories of patients: patients who faced kidney transplantation and have been on dialysis, and noncompliant patients treated with these therapies. Materials and Methods On 170 patients (120 hemodialysis and 50 peritoneal dialysis) we used a personality analysis (MMPI2) and the COPE, which assessed the ability of patients to cope under certain conditions that can be perceived as stressful or, in any case, unusual. Objective This study analyzes the differences in psychological variables and symptomatology between temporomandibular disorder diagnosis subgroups. Study design The sample included 114 temporomandibular disorder patients that were evaluated in coping, distress, and temporomandibular characteristics. Sexual Compulsivity and Sexual Sensation Seeking: A Preliminary Approach Among Male Sex Workers Compared to Gay Men in Spain

This study aims to explore sexual compulsivity (SC) and sexual sensation seeking (SSS) in male sex workers (MSWs) compared to a group of non-MSW gay men. A total of 60 MSWs and 63 gay men answered the SC Scale and the SSS Scale. The total scales' mean score was slightly higher in the MSW population. Still, statistical differences were observed in only two SSS items. In spite of the absence of statistical significance, MSWs presented more sexual behavior interferences on their lives and higher failure to control sexual impulses. Future interventions among MSWs should focus on sexual self-control and impulsivity.

Validation studies of questionnaires used to assess physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior (SB) in stroke survivors are scarce. This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the validity of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire long-form (IPAQ-LF) in community living adults with post-stroke sequelae (≥6 months) and preserved ambulation. Participants’ functional mobility, lower limb strength, ambulatory level, stroke severity, and disability were assessed. An accelerometer (ActiGraph GT3X+) was worn for ≥7 consecutive days. This study placed the phenomenon of college women’s fat talk within response styles theory. We predicted that with increasing trait body dissatisfaction there would be an increase in rumination leading to a greater frequency of fat talk. We also predicted that neuroticism would moderate this mediation pathway, and that these effects would occur over and above body size. A survey was conducted on a convenience sample of 212 college women with a mean age of 22.04 years ( SDage = 2.61).
