Nodular cast iron fatigue lifetime in cyclic plane bending

The fatigue behavior of a component is strongly dependent on the material and its surface condition. Therefore, the manner in which the surface is prepared during component manufacturing (surface roughness, residual stresses etc.) has a decisive role in dictating the initiation time for fatigue cracks. The fatigue behavior of the same material, a nodular cast iron, with three different surface conditions (fine ground, sand blast and as-cast) has been investigated under cyclic plane bending. Modern excavations of settlement sites from the end of the First Iron Age and the beginning of the second, together with a re-examination of those undertaken in the past, permit us to better approach some material that has traditionally been neglected as a result of its unpromising aspect: notably some of the iron material. This article will attempt to show the diversity of this material, and some new methods permitting its quantification. The aim is to deepen our understanding of the role and status of this metal in Hallstatt society by a consideration of the material from occupation sites as opposed to funerary monuments.

Die Nekropole von Lailly Au-delà de l’Eau (Departement Yonne) war 1927 entdeckt worden und wurde1934, 1936 und 1937 und zum letzten Mal 2012 teilweise ausgegraben. Die Untersuchung der in den Depots der Museen von Senswiederentdeckten Grabbeigaben und die systematische Aufarbeitung der Grabungsarchive der Société archéologique de Sens habenes ermöglicht, einen Teil der geschlossenen Fundkontexte zu rekonstruieren und eine Belegungschronologie dieser kleinen Nekropolevorzuschlagen, deren großes wissenschaftliches Potenzial noch in situ erforscht werden muss. The Decameroncino is an emblematic text, in the literary workshop of Capuana, of a constant research theoretical on the form of modern novella. The relationship exhibited with Boccaccio's work allows the writer of Mineo to institute a wise game of filming and overturning, woven with the double thread of counterpoint ironic. The organic system of the Decameron is remodeled in the sense of fragmentation. Through a fantastic restless and paradoxical, the narrative suspends criteria of deterministic realism to allude to complexity of the true and of the writing that figures it.

Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL, a.k.a Lnc2) is a member of the lipocalin family which has diverse roles including stabilizing matrix metalloproteinase-9 from auto-degradation and as siderocalins which are important in the transport of iron. NGAL also has important biological functions involved in immunity and inflammation as well as responses to kidney damage. NGAL expression has also been associated with certain neoplasia and is important in the metastasis of breast cancer.
