Environmental Organic Photochemistry: Advances and Perspectives
2013
This review is a survey of recent advances in environment related aspects of organic photochemistry. Besides presenting gen- eral concepts, the manuscript is mainly focused on the photoreactivity of natural organic matter, and on the photochemistry of anthropo- genic substances under natural light irradiation.
Technical English for agriculture
2021
As the world goes global, the agricultural business needs to move across frontiers and oceans. Food, raw and processed, is regularly transported across continents. As space is no longer a limit for food trade and human nutrition, language cannot represent a barrier to this continuous exchange. In the last 60 years, English has been taking a foothold as the primary language for world trade and the exchange of agricultural goods is no exception. Agricultural sciences embrace a large number of disciplines, from botany to environmental physiology, from soil science to meteorology, from plant propagation to cultural management, from soil management to pest control, from field crops to animal husb…
Preparation of tungstophosphoric acid/cerium-doped NH2-UiO-66 Z-scheme photocatalyst: a new candidate for green photo-oxidation of dibenzothiophene a…
2021
International audience; The goal of this study was to introduce an effective visible-light induced photocatalytic system with a good ability for photocatalytic oxidative desulfurization (PODS) and denitrogenation (PODN) using molecular oxygen (O2) as an oxidant. In this regard, tungestophosphoric acid (PW12) was supported onto cerium-doped NH2-UiO-66 (PW12/Ce-NUiO-66) and employed for the photo-oxidation of dibenzothiophene (DBT) and quinoline (Qu). Herein, using cerium (Ce) as a “mediator” facilitated the separation of charge carriers, while NH2-UiO-66 remarkably enhanced the surface area with plentiful adsorption sites and shifted the adsorption edge of PW12to the visible region. The sum …

Koulupsykologien psykologisen työstä irrottautumisen yhteydet unen laatuun ja palautumisen kokemukseen päiväkirjatutkimuksen valossa
2015
Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin koulupsykologien viikonlopun aikaisen psykologisen työstä irrottautumisen yhteyksiä unen laatuun ja palautumisen kokemukseen. Lisäksi tutkittiin eroavatko koulupsykologien psykologinen työstä irrottautuminen, unen laatu ja palautumisen kokemus taustatekijöiden mukaan (sukupuoli, ikä, työsuhteen muoto, työtunnit, oppilasmäärä, kotona asuvat lapset). Kolme viikkoa kestäneen päiväkirjatutkimuksen kyselyt toteutettiin kolmena peräkkäisenä perjantaina ja niitä seuranneina kolmena peräkkäisenä maanantaina keväällä 2014. Perjantaisin kysyttiin työviikon aikaista unen laatua, kun taas maanantaisin kysyttiin viikonlopun aikaista psykologista irrottautumista, unen laatua ja…
Toiminko sääntöjen tai arvojeni vastaisesti? : koulupsykologien kokemien eettisten dilemmojen ja niiden vatvomisen yhteys työstä palautumiseen
2015
Tavoite: Tutkimuksemme tarkoituksena on selvittää, eroaako koulupsykologien viikonlopun aikainen työstä palautuminen heidän viikon aikana kokemiensa eettisten dilemmojen ja niiden vatvomisen suhteen.
Rac1-Regulated Endothelial Radiation Response Stimulates Extravasation and Metastasis That Can Be Blocked by HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors
2011
Radiotherapy (RT) plays a key role in cancer treatment. Although the benefit of ionizing radiation (IR) is well established, some findings raise the possibility that irradiation of the primary tumor not only triggers a killing response but also increases the metastatic potential of surviving tumor cells. Here we addressed the question of whether irradiation of normal cells outside of the primary tumor augments metastasis by stimulating the extravasation of circulating tumor cells. We show that IR exposure of human endothelial cells (EC), tumor cells (TC) or both increases TC-EC adhesion in vitro. IR-stimulated TC-EC adhesion was blocked by the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor lovastatin. Glycyrr…
Synergy of Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 Time Series for Cloud-Free Vegetation Water Content Mapping with Multi-Output Gaussian Processes
2023
Optical Earth Observation is often limited by weather conditions such as cloudiness. Radar sensors have the potential to overcome these limitations, however, due to the complex radar-surface interaction, the retrieving of crop biophysical variables using this technology remains an open challenge. Aiming to simultaneously benefit from the optical domain background and the all-weather imagery provided by radar systems, we propose a data fusion approach focused on the cross-correlation between radar and optical data streams. To do so, we analyzed several multiple-output Gaussian processes (MOGP) models and their ability to fuse efficiently Sentinel-1 (S1) Radar Vegetation Index (RVI) and Senti…
Thermal bleaching of gamma-induced-defects in optical fibers
2012
International audience; Ge-doped and F-doped gamma-irradiated fibers with a maximum accumulated dose of 10 MGy were subjected to isochronal annealing treatments up to 750°C. The thermal treatment influence on the point defect generation and transformation were investigated through Radiation Induced Attenuation (RIA) changes in the visible and IR spectral domains. The thermal bleaching of gammainduced-defects depends on both temperature and composition of optical fibers.
