Childhood reproduced: images of childhood represented in children's daily lives in home and day-care settings

ABSTRACTThis study explores images of childhood by analysing children's pictorial representations and accompanying captions. The focus is on how children together with adults represent childhood in the home and daycare settings in a oneweek diary study. The key analytical tool was framing, which is used to highlight what kinds of images are (re)produced and narrated. The frames that emerged were (1) portrayal of the child via cultural products and societal relations, (2) portrayal of the child via individuality, relationships and attachment, (3) the child as a symbol of capabilities, and (4) the child as a learner. La restituzione prospettica è stata pressoché ignorata nelle ricerche incentrate sulla ricostruzione di architetture e contesti urbani da foto d’archivio, a causa dell’ampio margine di approssimazione che caratterizzava il processo di restituzione condotto con gli strumenti tradizionali del disegno. Gli strumenti digitali per la rappresentazione riducono sensibilmente il margine di approssimazione e permettono di ricostruire direttamente nello spazio tridimensionale le opere che compaiono in una singola immagine fotografica. Gestalt Theory, Data Decomposition and Functional Architecture in Visual Neuroscience

Classical and recent result about neuronal properties, and their functions and architectural design prompted claims to bring gestalt theory to bear on neurosciences reserach. It is deemed to contribute to understand brain mechanism through descriptions of visual functions expected to be wired in the brain. The standard models of data decomposition and functional architecture in visual neuroscience are discussed. Such issues as visual primitives identification and neuronal activity integration in gestaltist terms are introduced.

Omnidirectional (or 360°) cameras are acquisition devices that, in the next few years, could have a big impact on video surveillance applications, research, and industry, as they can record a spherical view of a whole environment from every perspective. This paper presents two new contributions to the research community: the CVIP360 dataset, an annotated dataset of 360° videos for distancing applications, and a new method to estimate the distances of objects in a scene from a single 360° image. The aim of the present study was to analyze differences in the emotional processing (valence, arousal, and dominance) of food-related information in patients with eating disorders (ED), patients with obesity, and healthy women. Menetelmä poikkeavuuksien havaitsemiseen hyperspektrikuvista käyttäen syviä konvolutiivisia autoenkoodereita. Poikkeavuuksien havaitseminen kuvista, erityisesti hyperspektraalisista kuvista, on hankalaa. Kun ongelmaan yhdistetään ennalta tuntematon data ja poikkeavuudet, muodostuu ongelma vielä laajemmaksi. Spektraalisten poikkeavuuksien havaitsemiseen on kehitetty useita eri menetelmiä, mutta spatiaalisten poikkeavuuksien havaitseminen on huomattavasti hankalempaa. Ojcowie Reformacji: Marcin Luter i Jan Kalwin zakwestionowali kult obrazu. Posługiwali się różnymi argumentami. Marcin Luter dopuszczał obecność obrazów w przestrzeni kościelnej, a Jan Kalwin – nie. Ich teologia mocno oddziałała na Europę, tak że nawet katolicyzm w swej potocznej wrażliwości odszedł od rozumienia obrazu kultycznego, a wszedł w czas sztuki. Obraz przestał być pojmowany jako szczególne miejsce obecności (ikona), a zaczął funkcjonować jako dzieło sztuki, przestał być medium odnoszącym do oryginału, ale sam stał się oryginałem w sensie artystycznym.
