In ski jumping low body weight development resulted in some serious underweight problems and therefore the International Ski Federation (FIS) decided to solve the problem by relating maximum ski length to Body Mass Index (BMI) in 2004. The present study examined the current relationship between body weight, ski length and performance (jumping distance) in ski jumping. By adopting the BMI regulation to specifications for competition equipment, the FIS succeeded in stopping the alarming development of underweight problems in ski jumping. Use of artificial substrates for sampling benthic macroinvertebrates in the assessment of water quality of large lowland rivers

The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the usefulness of the artificial substrate sampler in collecting macroinvertebrates for water quality assessment of Polish lowland rivers. This paper presents the results of a comparative study between two different sampling techniques, i.e. nettings filled with brick as artificial substrates and handnet sampling. The validity of applying the biotic index method is also demonstrated. The Belgian Biotic Index (BBI) method and the lower Nysa Kłodzka river were chosen for study. BACKGROUND: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic allergic inflammatory disease, which manifests itself with eczematous skin lesions. OBJECTIVE: We compared the clinical efficacy of tacrolimus ointment (0.1%) given twice a day and oral cyclosporine (3 mg/kg) given once daily. Rescue medication for itching included cetirizine 10-20 mg (equal to one or two tables). METHODS: Thirty patients, aged 13-45 years (mean+/-SD 27.1+/-10.9), with a history of moderate-to-severe AD were randomized to treatments, 15 patients for each treatments. In this paper we discuss recent developments in the Finnish banking sector. Our specific aim is to examine whether and to what extent recent developments in Finland are broadly in line with the trends common to banking sectors in Europe and also worldwide. We focus on developments in banks' profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and the market structure of the banking sector. In addition, technological developments are surveyed. Con el objetivo de contribuir al conocimiento de los ecosistemas naturales del país, se determinó las características edáficas y la composición florística del bosque estacionalmente seco (La Menta, 04º 43' 55" LS y 80º 04' 55" LO, provincia de Piura y Timbes, 04º 44' 58" LS y 80º 03' 33" LO, provincia de Ayabaca), ambos en la región Piura, Perú. El área de estudio abarcó una extensión aproximada de 6 000 hectáreas en un rango altitudinal entre 350 m a 1 350 m.
