International audience; No-reference quality assessment is a challenging issue due to the non-existence of any information related to the reference and the unknown distortion type. The main goal is to design a computational method to objectively predict the human perceived quality of a distorted mesh and deal with the practical situation when the reference is not available. Recent content-based image retrieval systems offer an interactive visual browsing of images databases. These methods perform a classification of images (offline) into a search tree for users browsing (online). This approach shows three main problems:1) The size of decriptor vector (n>100) makes distance computing sensitive to dimensionality curse,2) Having many different kinds of attributes into descriptor vector does not help classification,3) In general, classification does not take in consideration users' search context. Relationship between authors’ keywords in journal papers and indexing terms in databases ISOC, IME and ICYT

The keywords provided by authors in their scientific articles and the descriptors assigned to those articles in various databases are analysed to find out the role played by these keywords during the indexing process. In order to do that, 108 periodical publications proportionally distributed between Social Sciences and Humanities (36 journals), Science and Technology (36) and Medical and Health Sciences (36) were selected. International audience; Seed-based heuristics have proved to be efficient for studying similarity between genetic databases with billions of base pairs. This paper focuses on algorithms and data structures for the filtering phase in seed-based heuristics, with an emphasis on efficient parallel GPU/manycores implementa- tion. We propose a 2-stage index structure which is based on neighborhood indexing and perfect hashing techniques. We present a new class of binary words: the prefix normal words. They are defined by the property that for any given length $k$, no factor of length $k$ has more $a$'s than the prefix of the same length. These words arise in the context of indexing for jumbled pattern matching (a.k.a. permutation matching or Parikh vector matching), where the aim is to decide whether a string has a factor with a given multiplicity of characters, i.e., with a given Parikh vector. Generating TV summaries for CE-devices

Automatically generated summaries of TV content are indispensable for content selection and navigation in CE-devices. We show two different types of summaries: Short video trailers and visual overviews consisting of representative frames. The demo does not only show the feasibility of the proposed algorithms, but also shows how different types of generated summaries can be used in future CE-devices.
