Objective: To characterize the etiologies and clinical features at diagnosis of patients with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and correlate these baseline features with survival using an etiopathogenically guided multivariable model. Patients and Methods: The Spanish Group of Autoimmune Diseases HLH Study Group, formed in 2013, is aimed at collecting adult patients with HLH diagnosed in internal medicine departments between January 3, 2013, and October 28, 2017. International audience; There are no studies which have compared the risk of severe Covid-19 and related mortality between transplant recipients and non-transplant patients. We enrolled two groups of patients hospitalized for Covid-19, i.e., kidney transplant recipients from the French Registry of Solid Organ Transplant (n=306) and a single-center cohort of non-transplant patients (n=795). An analysis was performed among subgroups matched for age and risk factors for severe Covid-19 or mortality. Šī tēma ir aktuāla, jo ik gadu pasaulē nāk ap 15 miljoniem bērnu , no kuriem vismaz viens no 10 jaundzimušajiem piedzimst pirms laika. Savukārt Latvijā katru gadu pirms laika jeb agrāk par pilnām 37 grūtniecības nedēļām dzimst vairāk nekā 1000 bērni, tie ir aptuveni 6% no kopējā dzimušo skaita. Background and Objectives: Palliative care is an interdisciplinary medical specialty focused on improving the quality of life of critically ill patients, including those with frailty, during their illness. Materials and Methods: We conducted an extensive literature review on Pubmed focusing on palliative care in neuro-oncology patients admitted to intensive care units (ICUs). Background: A high-volume center with a multidisciplinary team is regarded as the optimal place for providing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). We hypothesize that an ECMO center can also be successfully created and subsequently developed entirely by intensivists in a mid-size mixed intensive care unit (ICU). The aim of this paper is to report the commitment of the Italian Study Group of Hospital Hygiene (GISIO) of the Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health (SItI) describing some experiences to contrast HAIs and antimicrobial resistance.
