The work deals with the principle of equality studied and supported by the Honorable Nilde Iotti, therefore with art. 3 of the Constitution, examining the principle of equality in the tax field, together with the connected princ…
2021
The essay examines the first years of Nilde Iotti's activity in the European Parliament, to highlight her reflections, the battles waged for the construction of a European democratic power. An experience, in the European Parliament, which began in 1969 and ended in 19792, the year in which Iotti left the European seat to occupy the seat of the first female President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic. Nilde Iotti's participation in the European Parliament, a further stage in her "progression", a term she preferred to that of "career", was the result of a new strategy of the Italian Communist Party on the subject of European integration.
2021
The pages of the volume Nilde Iotti. Declinations of a political and institutional experience, edited by Claudia Giurintano and with the preface by Francesca Russo, President of the Scientific Committee of the Iotti Foundation - testify to the enthusiasm with which some professors of the Department of Political Sciences and International Relations of the University of Palermo (A. Blando, M. Buscemi, D. Ferrara, C. Giurintano, MC Parlato, M. Patti, A. Pera and G. Tumminelli) wanted to join the proposal of the Nilde Iotti Foundation to offer their scientific contribution in the centenary of the birth of a great Mother of our Republic. These are essays that exemplify the specificity of a Depar…
Spatio-Temporal Analysis of Urban Acoustic Environments with Binaural Psycho-Acoustical Considerations for IoT-Based Applications
2018
Sound pleasantness or annoyance perceived in urban soundscapes is a major concern in environmental acoustics. Binaural psychoacoustic parameters are helpful to describe generic acoustic environments, as it is stated within the ISO 12913 framework. In this paper, the application of a Wireless Acoustic Sensor Network (WASN) to evaluate the spatial distribution and the evolution of urban acoustic environments is described. Two experiments are presented using an indoor and an outdoor deployment of a WASN with several nodes using an Internet of Things (IoT) environment to collect audio data and calculate meaningful parameters such as the sound pressure level, binaural loudness and binaural sharp…
Wildfire Monitoring Based on Energy Efficient Clustering Approach for FANETS
2022
Forest fires are a significant threat to the ecological system’s stability. Several attempts have been made to detect forest fires using a variety of approaches, including optical fire sensors, and satellite-based technologies, all of which have been unsuccessful. In today’s world, research on flying ad hoc networks (FANETs) is a thriving field and can be used successfully. This paper describes a unique clustering approach that identifies the presence of a fire zone in a forest and transfers all sensed data to a base station as soon as feasible via wireless communication. The fire department takes the required steps to prevent the spread of the fire. It is proposed in this study…
