This study deals with seismic reliability-based design (SRBD) relationships in terms of behavior factors and displacement demands for hardening structures equipped with double friction pendu-lum system (DFPS) bearings. An equivalent 3dof system having a hardening post-yield slope is adopted to describe the superstructure behavior, whereas velocity-dependent laws are assumed to model the responses of the two surfaces of the DFPS. The paper concerns the seismic behavior of precast concrete industrial buildings with an elevation equipped with seismic isolators. It’s examined a building with rectangular plan of m 40x 50. The structure is constituted of columns of square cross-section of 0.6 m, with continuum beams foundation. The desk is made with T section beams for each frame connected by Gerber joints in the main direction and they support precast pre-tensioned tiles with  shape. Full scale tests of the base-isolation system for an emergency hospital

The paper presents the results of some full-scale tests regarding the base-isolation system of the emergency room building of the polyclinic hospital in Palermo (Italy). This building has been recently realized and its base isolation system is characterized by double friction pendulum isolators. Static lateral pushing tests were aimed at identifying fundamental mechanical properties of the whole isolation level (e.g. friction forces and stiffness) in order to verify the agreement with the design hypotheses. Materiali isolanti per l’edilizia: uno studio di LCA

Il presente lavoro descrive l’applicazione della LCA per valutare l’embodied energy e le emissioni di gas serra (GHGs) di due sistemi edilizi (costituiti da involucro edilizio, pareti interne e pavimenti di interpiano) che differiscono per il materiale isolante: polistirene espanso estruso (XPS) o fibra di cellulosa (FC). I risultati mostrano che l’impiego di FC in alternativa al XPS consente di ridurre l’embodied energy del sistema edilizio di circa il 13% (l’aliquota di energia non rinnovabile, che rappresenta circa il 79-81% del totale, si riduce del 16,5%). Si propone un pannello realizzato a partire dalla pianta opuntia ficus indica che opportunamente trattata, disidratata, macinata ed essiccata, viene assemblata con leganti e/o collanti. La novità è rappresentata dalla tipologia del materiale usato che fino ad oggi non ha avuto applicazione nel settore edilizio ed ha invece grandi potenzialità sia per la facilità di reperimento del materiale che costituisce una fonte di materia prima rinnovabile, sia per la grande disponibilità di materia prima sul territorio siciliano, sia per le buone prestazioni termo-acustiche che si sono raggiunte(λ 0.07).
