The LAI is a key parameter in hydrological processes, especially in the physically based distribution models. It is a critical ecosystem attribute since physiological processes such as photosynthesis, transpiration and evaporation depend on it. The diffusion of water vapor, momentum, heat and light through the canopy is regulated by the distribution and density of the leaves, branches, twigs and stems. The LAI influences the sensible heat flux H in the surface energy balance single source models through the calculation of the roughness length and of the displacement height. ESA’s upcoming satellite Sentinel-2 will provide Earth images of high spatial, spectral and temporal resolution and aims to ensure continuity for Landsat and SPOT observations. In comparison to the latter sensors, Sentinel-2 incorporates three new spectral bands in the red-edge region, which are centered at 705, 740 and 783 nm. This study addresses the importance of these new bands for the retrieval and monitoring of two important biophysical parameters: green leaf area index (LAI) and chlorophyll content (Ch). Ion exchange resins (IERs) are widely used by the nuclear industry to decontaminate radioactive effluents. After use they are usually encapsulated in cementitious materials. However, the solidified waste forms can exhibit a strong expansion, possibly leading to cracking. Maģistra darba mērķis ir gūt ieskatu par Rīgas Mazās ģildes cunftu tradīciju maiņu 14. gadsimta otrās puses – 16. gadsimta beigu politisko, ekonomisko, reliģisko un sociālo faktoru ietekmē. Rīgas Mazās ģildes cunftu iekšējā dzīve bija strikti reglamentēta un tradīciju noteikta. Cunftu tradīcijas tika mainītas pielāgojoties dzīves apstākļiem, ko galvenokārt noteica ārējie faktori. Darbā noteiktas cunftu tradīcijas un to izmaiņas viduslaiku un agro jauno laiku gan rakstītajos, gan lietiskajos avotos. Noteiktās cunftu tradīcijas tika iedalītas trīs tēmās: reliģiskās, profesionālās un sociālās tradīcijas. Darba gaitā noskaidrota tradīciju maiņas dinamika.
