In Mediterranean Europe, terrace landscapes can be found where 1) the orography is characterized by hills or mountains, 2) there is a high amount of stone outcrops and 3) the human need for agricultural production was quite high till the recent past. Gli Autori dopo aver descritto le caratteristiche ambientali del sottobacino Iudeo Bucari e l’attività agricola prettamente legata alla vitivinicoltura, soffermano l’attenzione sulle potenzialità produttiva di questo territorio espressa da diversi vitigni. L'obiettivo è quello di trasferire su di una basecartografica il diverso comportamento produttivo dei vitigni più rappresentati nel sottobacino Iudeo - Bucari, con il fine ultimo di fornire un valido strumento agli agronomi liberi professionisti ed ai tecnici delle cantine al fine di indirizzare l’attività produttiva dei viticoltori e migliorare la gestione dei suoli del territorio.

The study evaluates the spatial structure of the landscape in the Upper Oder valley along a section of about 100 km. It is a part of the valley with the strongest anthropopressure. According to the theory of ecosystem services, one of the functions of the Oder valley landscape is protection of its biodiversity. It is fulfilled by protecting valuable relicts of pristine ecosystems of the valley and by ensuring the function of an ecological corridor. The most important in it are riparian forests and oak-hornbeam forests, meadows, swamps, peatbogs and old river beds.
